The TEAM is not yet built to win a Super Bowl...I fear no matter who you add at QB will still fail. I really want to see this roster flourish before asking a rookie to take over the helm. If we can get our hands on either Smith or Foles we could change the landscape of this team in one off season: This is what we currently have in the "stable"(including viable backups where available)..as you can see the holes are such that success is going to be very difficult in the National Football League, especially when an injury occurs QB /DeShone Kizer(backup developmental only) LT Joe Thomas (He's coming back) LG Joel Bitonio C JT Tretter RG Kevin Zeitler RT /Shon Coleman TE 1 David Njoku TE 2 Seth DeValve/Randall Telfer WR1 Josh Gordon(This was glaring until week 13 and easily could be again) WR2 WR3 Corey Coleman RB1 RB2 Duke Johnson FB Dan Vitale RDE Myles Garrett RDT Trevon Coley/Caleb Brantley LDT Danny Shelton/Larry Ogunjobi LDE Emmanuel Ogbah/Carl Nassib SLB Jamie Collins MLB Joe Schobert WLB Christian Kirksey LCB Jason McCourty (getting old) SS Jabrill Peppers FS RCB /Jamar Taylor NCB Briean Boddy-Calhoun P Britton Coquitt LS Charley Hughlett That's 29 players that might make another NFL roster...the rest would be on practice squads or worse...No way to win games with that (and Isaiah Crowell) There are a LOT of holes to fill to get to a professional 53 man roster. I think it is very realistic that we need 24 players to become playoff contenders.. We have the resources to do it... Brantley and/or Ogunjobi could take a big step forward this off season
I respectfully disagree... Give the 2017 Browns a legit NFL QB and we win some games....To say we couldn't have won no matter who the QB was is bullshit.
Clearly we weren't built to win on any kind of consistent basis, but there's no way we go 1-31 over a two year span unless we are just ridiculously bad at QB... The odds of us actually going 0-16 this past season were less than 2%....That's how fucking bad the Cleveland Browns plan at QB in 2017 truly was. There was a 98.4% chance that no matter who we through out there at QB, we would at least win a game.... But damned if they didn't beat those odds!!!! Sashi was blind...He got himself fired, and the reason why couldn't possibly be more obvious for even the most novice of football fans...I still wonder how he could have possibly passed on all the QB's he did, knowing exactly how desperate we were at the position. The fact he brought us Cody Kessler and Deshone Kizer is an absolute embarrassment. Not only did he not get us a QB, but he was the savior for both the Eagles AND the Texans, in providing them with future stud NFL QB's... How could he have done worse? Please don't tell me about all the freakin draft picks he accumulated. Clearly he didn't know what to do with them anyway.... We just went through the worst two seasons that ANY football fans ever had to endure, and that was on the heels of 15 straight years of SUCK!!!...Regardless of how much draft capital we have, it wasn't worth it.... There are two constants in today's NFL. The Browns and the Patriots. Everyone else is mediocre...

That's what I thought last year and it got us nowhere. We have resources and after this embarrassment, I expect them to use them. What I showed above is an example of what could be done with those resources. I would have still had close to $30M in cap space left...That's how crazy this salary cap is.
I've heard that same stuff for three years....The Browns have the best cap situation. What has it done for us? Should I be excited this year?
My apologies for the negativity...I made the mistake of going out tonight, and I get bombarded everywhere I go about the Browns.... Nobody will ever be able to justify the last two seasons of Browns football...
No, I think Sashi was told he had security and he formed his 5 year plan based on that...Haslem at the very least expected improvement, when he didn't get it, he scrapped Sashi and his 5 year plan...Hired a guy that will utilize resources instead of attempting to buy more resources with the ones you own...Mark my words, Dorsey will make a splash in free agency AND the draft.
They marked...I got my fingers crossed. I still don't understand WTH Sashi was doing...Seems to me like he couldn't possibly have been that naive, but whatever...I hope you are right. I hope Jimmy allows him to spend.
^^^I like it very much, but ya better pray Cousins doesn't get hurt....That's the major weakness... Nobody wants to see Kizer come in, and Hogan is a CFL guy.(Dorsey already cut him once)...We clearly need a better back-up QB plan, but there's no doubt in my mind this would be a dangerous team..
