    Sorry Lym,

I guess after washing the Crap of the last two seasons off the windshield I realized just how badly cracked it is. And it is probably no surprise that the mirrors still look like new.

I’m just having a really hard time swallowing the “hero” pill that Haslam is trying to sell with Hue (I dunno but that comment just really chaps my ass). Yes, Jim is the owner, the guy with the checkbook, and there’s not a bleeping thing you or I can do about any decisions he makes regarding the Browns.

I have to agree with the rest of us amateurs that the recent movement with the offensive coaching staff hasn’t instilled any confidence (for me) that this team is closer to 10-6 than the 1-31 of the last few years. I guess I’m just not willing to buy-in to what they’re trying sell.

    :holy:

Lord Grant me the serenity to accept the things about our Browns we cannot change. Courage to stand by the team’s side, and a sufficient supply of alcohol to get us through these dark days.:SEP::cheers:

    NFL.com good enough?

The Cleveland Show: Inside look at how the Browns' draft unfolded

    And more on Wentz...

Hue Jackson: Carson Wentz 'wasn't the right fit' for the Browns

In fact, only Mary Kay Cabot in a very oddly-timed hit piece, quoted "unnamed sources" saying Jackson wanted Wentz over Goff - against both Hue Jackson and his buddy, Mike Silver's repeated statements to the contrary. Her piece was released 2-3 days before Sashi Brown was fired by the team.

Panthers promoted assistant special teams coach Chase Blackburn to special teams coordinator.

Blackburn, 34, spent the final two years of his playing career in Carolina from 2013-2014 then immediately jumped into coaching. He interviewed for the Chargers' STs coach gig in 2016. Blackburn was a stud special teamer in his playing days, winning a pair of Super Bowls with the Giants.

I knew his father well . we were old friends .i met Chase around 11 years ago when he visited his Father . great guy who was undrafted out of Akron and played very well for the Giants . his father as we called him Blacky passed last summer . Chase and Desporadoes bar put together a Blacky memorial poker run for this summer . I know he will kick ass as a ST Coach . something the Browns need . for the record he grew up a Browns fan .

Former Steelers OC Todd Haley interviewed for the Browns' offensive coordinator job.

The two sides are in "serious talks," according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. The Steelers decided not to renew Haley's contract after the season, possibly due to tension with Ben Roethlisberger. Hue Jackson served as both head coach and offensive coordinator in 2017, which predictably backfired as the Browns endured one of the worst seasons in NFL history. The Browns have also interviewed Texans QBs coach Sean Ryan and former Giants coach Ben McAdoo for their offensive coordinator opening.

Report: Browns close to deal with Todd Haley

The Browns are finalizing a deal with Todd Haley to become their offensive coordinator, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Haley, 50, will become the first offensive coordinator under Hue Jackson and likely takes over the play-calling duties.

The Steelers did not renew Haley’s contract after their 45-42 loss to the Jaguars in the divisional round. He spent six seasons in Pittsburgh.

Haley inherits two new offensive assistants Jackson hired this offseason in receivers coach Adam Henry and Ken Zampese. Henry arrives from the Giants, and Zampese formerly served as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator.

Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner endorsed Haley last week, tweeting, “I know if I had anything left in this old body, I would sign up tomorrow to work and play for Todd again.”

Haley was the offensive coordinator in Arizona when the Cardinals lost to the Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII.

  10. Mel Kiper conducted his first mock draft last week. He said the Browns took Wyoming's QB, Josh Allen, at number one, and Saquon Barkley at number four. I like Barkley at four, and Allen has the body of an NFL QB at 6'5" and around 240 lbs. Not sure about his talent, but he supposedly has a strong arm. Wyoming didn't feature a strong passing attack, so he's a question mark.

As I've said before, I'm not seeing any elite QBs in this coming draft. Any thoughts?

QB's are the hardest to figure Rok...For what it's worth, there are many scouts that think this is the most talented QB pool in nearly 20 years...We won't know for a while, but if you ask me, I see at least 4 potential NFL star QB's, and I expect them all to be off the board in the first 12 picks.

John Dorsey said he sees 4 or 5 QB's that the Browns will have to consider at #1.....

Lebron just became the youngest NBA player to score 30,000.

And I read earlier that about half of the MLB Hall of Fame ballots have been revealed. Jim Thome is riding at 93% so far and just needs to be on 75% of all ballots. Who knew he'd be a first ballot guy? And he'll be inducted as an Indian (keeping fingers crossed). Bad news - Omar Vizquel, the best fielding shortstop of all time (fielding % wise at least) is only at 30-35%.

    Roll Cleveland!!!!!!!!

Now we just need something about the football team to cheer about.

 Drinks are on me fellas.

Or, more likely, he really doesn't know yet.....They haven't even gone through the interview process. The psychological and emotional evaluations haven't even happened yet...The picture will clear up, the closer we get...

If you think all the QB's in this draft suck, that's fine...The word from the pro's however, would indicate this is one of the best QB classes in recent memory...

You read a bit too much into that one, TD. I just meant that there are only 4=5 QB's that might be drafted in the 1st round. I was just saying that Dorsey's comment was pretty much vague and evoked a "No shit, Sherlock" response from me.

Doug, That wasn't meant for anyone specific...I've heard several Browns fans say that they don't like any of the QB's in this year's class. Just pointing out that the majority of GM's and scouts in this league seem to indicate that this is a very strong QB class...

It's all speculation right now anyway. Only time will tell how good these young QB's are. I just think, for obvious reasons, many Browns followers are simply scared to death at the thought of drafting another quarterback...It's understandable.

Here's to finally getting the right one.

I swear what I have read about Dorsey's tendencies drafting/evaluating and what I hear out of his mouth don't match up. I have seen everyone harp on the fact that he will want a "traditional quarterback" (read: tall, big, white guy), but then he comes out with quotes like "he must win" "must have good footwork and be able to move". To me, with everything he has said recently, he has to have Mayfield as his top guy. Unless he is just 'playing the game' of silly season, Baker's is really the only guy that checks the boxes that I have seen him quoted as his wants for a qb.
