Kiper is an idiot but I'm not gonna equate draft position to talent just yet. Look at Cook and McKinley. Both have been pretty good so far. This top 10 will probably be making people LMAO but it's not LMFAO like you are portraying it if you know what I mean.
I'm curious as to your opinions. Given the three free agent QBs discussed the most on this thread . . . Which draft eligible QB's playing style most closely matches each? o Kirk Cousins --------> ? o Alex Smith ----------> ? o Case Keenum ------> ?
What I don't get is how anyone in or outside of Cleveland could think anyone but Baker Mayfield is the right choice as the next QB. We've watched Kizer and other struggle mightily with accuracy and decision-making - Baker is the best in this class at both. And he's not just a hyper-accurate passer within his system. He is literally elite at all levels and areas throwing the football. He can throw from nearly any base or position, adjust his arm to make throws regardless of his surroundings, maintains accuracy in and out of the pocket, and throws one of the most catchable balls in years. The only reason a team would pass on him is due to his size (6'0") which is criminal.
Case Keenum may very well compare to Baker Mayfield. A bit of a college comparison but with Baker further along like the current Case than when he came out of college.
Its a loaded question since in the NFL having Marcus Mariota means you sign Brandon Weeden as a backup.
Josh Rosen = Kirk Cousins Sam Darnold = Alex Smith Luke Falk = Case Keenum You left out one free agent QB... Josh Allen = Blaine Gabbert
The compariosn I have wrote down for Baker Mayfield is Colt McCoy (sorry SAS, I didn't mean to make you with that comment, lol). Here's the rest of the early ones - Lamar Jackson - Kordell Stewart Mason Rudolph - Steve DeBerg Josh Rosen - Rob Johnson Sam Darnold - Stever Beuerlein Chase Litton - Scott Mitchell (the 95 version, lol) Josh Allen - Bobby Douglass Clay Thorson - Gus Frerotte I'm never overly friendly with my comps, especially in the beginning.
Well the question was to compare those 3 players to current prospects, not those prospects to current or former pros.
I only meant that in response to your response about Baker to Keenum. You can do whatever the hell you want even if you weren't the boss.
I don't think any of these players really fit into a duplicate mold for the guys listed. I can see where you would go Mayfield for Keenum. You could probably put Falk behind Cousins and make it work. Maybe Logan Woodside behind Smith.
lol I try compare guys to someone that has a similar body build and playing style. You co back a couple years and I was comping Bortles to Kerry Collins and Bridgewater to Chad Pennington.
Chad Pennington was boss. Put him on some of the better teams and I bet he could have made a hall of fame case. That and stayed healthy lol.
He made a living off of really quick progressions. His arm was so tired that he had to be way ahead of the break in most cases. Fun to watch though. He had some memorable games.
Funny thing was he was knocked for his deep game but he did something like lead QBs all-time in deep accuracy. He didn't go deep often but when he did it usually worked.
Maybe he threw it so little that it was shocking when a pass with a 6 second hang time would drop behind the defense, lol.
