Here is the infamous Mel Kiper Jr.'s last top ten:
2017 NFL Draft Mel Kiper Big Board
    1. Myles Garret (#1) (he and 10,000,000 others got it spot on
    2. Leonard Fournette (#4) (I know you didn't like him, but hey the rest of the world agreed with Mel)
    3. Jabrill Peppers (#25) I liked Peppers, but I don't know anyone else that liked him this highly
    4. Jonathan Allen (#17) I liked Allen also, but at least acknowledged his injury red flags
    5. Jamal Adams (#6) I loved Adams, in fact I had him ranked higher than Mel
    6. Reuban Foster (#31) Again, another player I had ranked higher than his 31st pick, but I don't get paid for this
    7. Malik McDowell (#35, 2nd round) Up and down player, he was ranked all over the board from about #25 on....except for Kiper
    8. Tim Williams (#78, Round 3) What was he thinking? #8 overall??? This is who you are referencing???
    9. Takkarist McKinley (#26) McKinley went right around where EVERYONE else besides Kiper had him
    10. Dalvin Cook (#41, Round 2) Second round grade from everyone except Kiper and Stopper, hmmm....

Notice anything strange here? Where are the QBs?

Oh wait, you referenced MEl Kiper...oh wait AGAIN... YOU referenced Mel Kiper, the guy who rarely puts a QB in his top 10...Nicely done...good research once again.

    Mel Kiper Jr...

MKJ: "Dan McGwire and Brett Favre are evenly rated as QB prospects."

MKJ: "Ricky Stanzi will have the best career of all these 2011 quarterbacks."

MKJ: "JaMarcus Russell is 'John Elway-like'."

MKJ: *after Mike Williams (USC) was drafted* "I'll see you at his Hall of Fame induction."

MKJ: "I will retire in 2018 if Jimmy Clausen isn't a successful NFL QB."

    Mel... it's time.

@showstopper... can we just agree that nobody regardless of film study, interviews, live scouting, etc. is any good at projecting NFL QBs? Literally, everyone has varying opinions and there are SOOOOO many factors that lead to success/failure of a prospect. If there were even one person who was better than .500 on QBs, they'd be the highest paid person in the sports world.

Little too early to be drinking SAS. Or is it a more of a "It's 5 o'clock somewhere" kind of day?

I don't know how to figure the percentages, but this is (roughly) what we've done since 2012 -

2012: Identified Russell Wilson as the 1b to Andrew Lucks 1a, scoring him to what would equate as roughly 3/4ths of a round over RGIII (we had Wilson as a mid first round talent, Luck as a top 10).
2012: Brandon Weeden and Brock Osweiler had 4th and 5th round grades.

2013: Geno Smith, Mike Glennon and Ryan Naasib we're our top rated passers with Geno getting a score that equates to a mid second round grade and Mike and Ryan both getting high thirds.

2014: Jimmy Garoppolo was our highest rated quarterback with a score that equated to a mid first. Bridgewater was our #2 with an early second, Bortles our 3 with a mid second, Manziel had a mid third and, for full disclosure, we whiffed on Carr (scored equivalent to a mid 4th).

2015: Jameis Winston had a mid 1st score, Mariota was slightly behind him but still in the first. Mannion can be qualified as a 'miss', we had a late second round score on him.

2016: Goff was top 5, Wentz top 20, Dak Prescott high second, Jacoby Brissett late second, Kevin Hogan high 5th, Paxton Lynch mid 5th, Hackenberg late 5th. Biggest miss would have been Connor Cook who had a score equivalent to a late third.

2017: No way to really calculate this (still too early for 2016 IMO) but it went Mahomes top 5, Trubisky top 16, Watson top of the second, Peterman mid third, Webb and Kizer late third early 4th. We didn't have any score on Beathard.

lol, I can't afford peanuts to pay the elephants...

Situation is everything for these young athletes, that's why I rank them both pre and post draft. What I posted above was the predraft rankings but if you look at a lot of my notes and discussions about those players it correlates with the franchise that drafted them.

The most recent example would be Goff. He was our top rated passer and I absolutely hated the fact that he was drafted to play for Jeff Fisher. When McVay was hired to be the Rams new head coach I went on record that Goff would have marked improvement in year 2 that would justify his lofty draft pick. So far, it looks like his new situation is going to change his career trajectory from submarine to space shuttle.

  12. We can agree...but I also think we can make the prediction certain QBs will never make it in the NFL...guys like Tebow, JT Barrett, T Pryor, J Hurts etc....but yes there is no exact science if Josh Allen will be better than Josh Rosen....all people can do is watch film, interview the players and then make an educated guess

Kiper just mocked Josh Allen to the Browns.

Man I miss those thumbs down buttons!! Actually, it wouldn't be that bad, as long as....The Browns signed Kirk Cousins, then took Josh Allen with the Eagles pick in the 2nd round....my guess is, that isn't the scenario with Magic Mel??

I haven't actually read the mock. It popped up on the Twitter feed and it made me start shaking my head...

This is just a 'flavor of the month' thing. Give it a couple weeks and someone else will slide into that spot.

If I'm staring down a loaded barrel, I would probably go with Darnold being the #1 to Cleveland but I'd rather wait till after the Senior bowl to start any speculation about that pick.

I haven't even gone as far as to really make my own wish list for the Browns with those top picks.

If they are going to absolutely ignore Baker Mayfield, then Darnold would be my choice behind Kirk Cousins. Darnold is the only other QB I would consider at #1 and I personally wouldn't do it...

This is far too reasonable a response. Who are you and what have you done with @showstopper?

    Most "realistic" mock draft:

    1 (CLE): Josh Rosen, QB
    2 (NYG): Sam Darnold, QB
    3 (IND): Bradley Chubb, DE
    4 (CLE): Minkah Fitzpatrick, FS
    5 (DEN): Saquon Barkley, RB

I think Indy is trying to shop that pick. There's really no other reason to go out and make a statement about drafting Barkley this early in the process. My guess is that the Colts would prefer that the Browns pass on a quarterback with that first pick. It would drive the value of the #3 up quite a bit.

Chubb is currently scoring as the best player in this draft class regardless of position.

To give you some personal reference to what I currently have Bradley scoring - he is ahead of what Myles Garrett was last year at this point in the process.
