    is that your real name?

  2. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

Sums up the QB evaluations this year pretty succinctly.

Browns will draft Sam Darnold because he *looks* like an NFL QB and Baker Mayfield will win a Super Bowl in Denver.

Good write-up of the Senior Bowl QBs here.

    Over-simplification of QBs - the 2017 Class:

    Baker Mayfield = Deshaun Watson
    Josh Allen = Patrick Mahomes
    Sam Darnold = DeShone Kizer

No lazy comp for Rosen. He's a poor man's Jared Goff (2016).

He may be a poor man's Mitchell Trubisky, which is even worse...

  7. Those are really bad comparisons...just saying

  8. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

Bad, as in, not close to what those prospects are? Or bad, as in, it sucks to be compared to those guys?

There are three first round QBs for me this year and anyone else is an R3 kinda dude - 1-3 year development needed.

Of the three first rounders, only Mayfield and Rosen could start at some point as rookies and have success, imo.

  9. Bad as in no way they compare....I do not think of Mayfield as Watson.....Darnold is a lot lot better than Kizer and Josh Allen is way closer to Kizer

I have to disagree.. Out of the past two seasons of comparisons, I would absolutely say Watson is the closest comparison to Mayfield.

Darnold very closely compares to Kizer, his worst attribute is his decision making and that is Kizer's downfall as well. If Kizer can fix that, he can actually become a top rated QB in this league as it would automatically fix a lot of his "accuracy" issues, which is what is failing Darnold as his completion percentage went down this past season.

Josh Allen, I would more agree with you in the aspect that his accuracy is also his down fall...too high of a risk for that type of player in the first round. I think Mahomes rated out higher in my ratings than Allen does, but I had him at middle of second and I have Allen in the low-second, so they are close...For the record I was wrong on Watson, whom I had at the bottom of the first and was right on (as far as pick placement with Kizer whom I had high-mid second).

I actually have Mayfield rated the highest QB since Andrew Luck, similar in ratings to Winston and Mariota, but actually higher..

  11. I can't believe the fact some people just over look how bad his pass pro was this season....he was playing in a pro style offense w a bad OL...this isn't a read offense where your getting the ball out of your hands in 1-2 secs...this kid was dropping dimes on Ohio St while being pressured at will...his ball placement allows WRs to run in stride and make plays...Darnold and Rosen will b franchise type QBs if healthy...I made a comment let's see what Mayfield looks like in the playoffs and overall he was avg to below avg and looked lost at times

Sorry, this is college ball. If you can't make up for sub par line play in college, what happens when you get to the NFL? In the MAJORITY of teams, the o-line play is mediocre at best...that isn't a ringing endorsement. And...dropping dimes? Nearly every college QB has a highlight reel of dimes, it's everything in between the 3-4 dimes that is measured and you want to talk about looking lost? OSU's defense made him look like a kid on the side of a milk carton.

    Yeah..because 66% completion, 287 yards, 8.2/attempt 2 TDs 1 INT is avg-below ave...

Let's see what the true test of average is against the Georgia defense:

    218/392 56% completion, 169.8 yards, 5.68/attempt, 1 TD, .9 INT

I know, your next argument is that the competition sucked, easy schedule, etc..excuse...etc..

Actually, Georgia faced 5 other ranked teams besides the Sooners in 2017...Their scores?

    85/162 52% completion, 179.2 yards, 5.74/attempt, 1.4 TD, .6 INT

So, as you can see, against the Georgia Bulldogs defense, Mayfield was the true leader of the pack as far as QBs are concerned. He didn't look average to below average, he was by and far the best the defense had faced and it showed.

Edit: By the way, in 15 tries, only two teams scored above 19 points on the Bulldogs, none other scored more than 14...

    Notre Dame 19
    Missouri 28
    Alabama 26

Baker Mayfield's Oklahoma Sooners dropped 48 on them

  13. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

Sam Darnold v. Ohio State (neutral field): 26 of 45 (57.8%), 356 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 119.8 QB rating

    Baker Mayfield v. Ohio State (@Ohio State): 27 of 35 (77.1%), 386 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 198.1 QB rating

USC sacks allowed: 30 (22 heading into the OSU game)
    OU sacks allowed: 24

EDIT: Sam Darnold didn't have to play against Denzel Ward, a projected Top 10 CB.

    "Looked lost at times".

He scored 41 points against the #3 defense in college football - the most Georgia allowed all season and the most they'd allowed since September 2016 in a road loss to Ole Miss.

And I'll save you some time, since we've done this song and dance before.

Showstopper: Stats mean d*ck. Give me results.

Me: Baker won against OSU, Sam didn't.

SS: Nope. I believe wut i see with my eyez

    Me: Look again.

  16. Baker Mayfield's Okla Sooners dropped 48 pts on them or their really really good RB ran all over them for 200+ yds and 2 TDs.....all Im saying is give me the QB that can run a pro system and not rely on a nascar type pace w a read and bubble throws..that just doesnt fly in the NFL...we will see how good Watson is next yr after teams have a full yr to evaluate him...kinda like Prescott

Keyword "Rely". That is an assumption that you and all scouts have to make.
Just as much an assumption as working in pro system means you will be a good pro.

  18. Well your an Eagles fan...did ND St run a fast pace offense?

  19. I love how everybody keeps saying he scored all these pts and eliminates the RB who rushed for 200+ yds and 2 TDs

I was rebutting your valuation of him looking average to below average, when you failed to take into account the defense he was going against. I think I MORE THAN showed he looked above average against that particular defense which was your argument. That last line (which was the only one you chose out of the entire post) was just an exclamation point on just how good this defense is...and Baker Mayfield was a BIG part of scoring points on that top defense.
