The Good, The Bad & The Ugly - Week 19 (Divisional) - Jaguars

    THE GOOD:
Ben Roethlisberger completed 37 of 58 for 469 yards 5 TDs (less the 1 INT and 1 Fumble- see bad)
    Antonio Brown
    Le'Veon Bell
    Vance McDonald
    Martavis Bryant
    Boswell was 6/6 XP

    THE BAD:
The Steelers defense was not up to the task
Ben Roethlisberger's 1 INT gave Jacksonville a short 18 yard field with which to work.
Ben Roethlisberger's 1 Fumble resulted in a Jaguars defensive TD to restore a 21 point lead.
The Steelers close to down 35 to 28 and then the Steelers let Yeldon (40 yards) and then Bohanon (TD) reestablish a 14 point lead.n
Lambo was 1/1 FG and 6/6 XP
Fornette had 109 yards on 25 carries

    THE UGLY:
The Steelers spotted Jacksonville a 21 point lead that they could not overcome.
Tomlin is now 0-2 against Jacksonville in the Playoffs.
Tomlin has the only two teams (2007, 2017) that both lost to Jacksonville in the regular season in Pittsburgh and then lost to Jacksonville in the playoffs in Pittsburgh in the same season (SuperBowl Era).

    ELSE:
The Steelers won't have another loss to the Brady lead Patriots in the playoffs.

The Good: The Jags have never had that many yards against them in a regulation game.
    The Bad: Eliminated
The Ugly: The crappy onside kick (not so much the decision itself but with how bad the kick itself was to allow a FG attempt), and the decision to onside it off a defender with 1 second left when that ends the game regardless of who touches it. Theoretically a clean recovery without touching a Jaguar would give the Steelers one shot at a TD or defensive penalty.

So if someone told u before the game that Ben would throw 5 TDs, the offense would score 6 TDs total, and Bortles would have 214 yards passing with 1 TD - what would u have thought would be the outcome of the game?

    Unbelievable

    I’m done.

The Good: This loss will help Patriot's fans feel better about their lives as will Brady on a stage accepting another trophy soon. I get an earlier start on my new hobby, hunting.

There is no bad or ugly.

One good thing. There won't be any Ben retirement talk. They've gotta keep this O together for another chance and hit on some defensive picks.

Until the constant weekly distractions stop this team is not winning anything. They need to stop running their mouths on social media, SI, etc and focus. You don’t see any other teams with this much self-inflicted drama.

JJ Wilcox and James Harrison just weren't good enough to get on the field down the stretch. This defense is just too good for them to break the lineup, I guess.

^^^ Vince Williams after the game. The idiot doesn't get it. Talk accomplishes nothing and any promises and guarantees anyone in this me-first organization delivers rings completely hollow right now.

I watched the first half ONLY and then an abbreviated 2nd half.
    Good:
Ben Roethlisberger's overall numbers (see below for other comments)
    Bell/Brown/Bryant
42 offensive points (more than enough to win most games)
Ben getting lucky (several times) he didn't have more than 1 INT on his record

    Bad:
Defense (A to mother fucking Z)
Spotting your opponent 21 points in a do-or-die playoff game
#fireButler (and the rest of the defense coaches 'cuz... ... they suck)
Bortles smoked this defense for 38 points
    Fournette's TD hat trick
Bud Dupree ... a pot hole is more disruptive
    J2S2 ... mostly invisible
Ben's fumble returned for a Jax DTD (points difference maker)
Bell sweep on 4&1 (lost 4 yds)
ZERO sacks by #1 Team in Sacks
That silly weekly comedy ... The Mitchell & Burns Show (Cole's big play catch down to PIT 5 set up dagger #1)
Cover ZERO on Bohanan TD (final dagger)
    Tomlin's clock mismanagement
    Boz's shitty on sides kick
Boz's shitty end of game kick off... even the Jag KR was confused, but very accepting of the generous gift
Tomlin coming up short... AGAIN... AGAIN... AGAIN... AGAIN... AGAIN... AGAIN... (starting to see reports from D&G HQ)

    Ugly:
Patriots go to another Super Bowl... while showing Tomlin's crew how its fucking done.

***FOR ALL THAT IS GOOD AND DECENT IN THIS WORLD, LET ANYONE BUT NEW ENGLAND WIN THIS FUCKING SUPER BOWL***
    Thank you.

  15. It definitely wasnt cover zero....the safety came flying up on run action...it was a really good call when Pitt was expecting run

This defense is as much on Tomlin as it is on Butler. Tomlin personally installed this cover two zone system that has turned the once feared defense into a laughing stock! This defense got exposed by Kizer, Bortles, and Hundley. The secondary seemed to get worse and worse as the season went on.

Constant break downs in communication. I read a couple days before the game the Steelers had spent the bye week fixing the communication issues.

Can't stop the run and have communication issues in the secondary or blown assignments. Yes it's on the players but coaches are hired to install a system and make sure the players can execute the system. Obviously the job isn't getting done.

After watching the Steelers secondary get embarrassed by Kizer before the bye week I looked at my wife and said they are gonna get beat by Jacksonville. I expected it!

After the Steelers sealed the AFC North championship Tomlin was asked if he was concerned about the defense and the issues they had stopping the run and giving up big pass plays. His arrogant dismissive answer was something to the effect of we will worry about those issues in our AFC North Champions gear. Obviously he didn't address it and if he and his coaching staff did they were ineffective.

  17. Kizer was 16-30 and Bortles was 14-26...hardly exposed...now Hundley had a field day

Looked like Cover ZERO to me since no one even chipped that mother fucker coming through and was wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide fucking open (like Gronk last year). The Jags typically run that play on a short yardage situations. They ran it vs Houston near the goal line, but the play developed further to the right. NOBODY PICKED UP THE FULLBACK. That's Cover ZERO. You should trust Steelers fans to recognize Cover ZERO. We've seen it way too much from this team.

  19. Zero coverage is no safety..there was a safety....if it was Iso action then I would blame the playside LB cause there should be a collision w the FB as he fills the hole

Great low percentage rates weee kizer put up 314 yads (want to guess how many 300 yard games he hsd all season?) and 2 tds. I think bortles had 1 incomplete in the 4th quarter and somewhere around 120 yards. Exposed would be a good definition.
