Stupid fucking Saints choking on the last play of the game. I actually thought the Vikings were going to luck into a PI penalty on that play before it happened and then kick the FG. Fuck the Vikings. Fuck the Eagles. But fuck the Vikings more. I hope they choke and fuck up badly against Nick Foles.

In the AFC, is Bortles about to pull a Flacco? I the Jags would take the ring but then they'd be stuck with him and his contract longterm. Not good for them. He's worse than Flacco.

I'd love to see the Jags in the Super Bowl. How much would the NFL hate to see Blake Bortles going against either back up QB from the NFC?

That last play should be shown to every pop warner kid. Don't just dive at someone with your head down. Your likely to hurt yourself or just straight fucking miss.

The thing that upset me most this weekend was how the officiating in the Titans Patriots game made an already lopsided matchup worse by making two pathetic officiating calls that killed any chance the Titans had. It made watching the game pointless.

I think Williams decided last second that he had arrived to early and was trying to avoid contact.

The NFL has the PI rules so dicked up that the possibility of getting a penalty that would have resulted in a last second field goal attempt prompted a player to duck in fear.

I think there's truth to that and I'm sure in that scenario the best thing the Vikings could hope for would be a flag, of which there were plenty in that game. Still, the play is his fault.

The Vikings were the beneficiaries of several PI calls in the first half, 2 questionable ones on their second TD drive, that set them up inside the 10.

I actually hate them more this year. Not sure why. I respect their defense but thought that they overachieved and took advantage of Erin being hurt. I'm tired of seeing our rival teams have everything fall into place while quite the opposite happens to us.

I'm not even sure thats true, but even IF it was, it still doesn't let that bonehead off the hook.

Why was he flying in like a rocket anyway? Have some godamn awareness and know that ALL you have to do is tackle the guy in bounds. Thats it! The Vikes had no timeouts and there was no time for anything else. Literally just get close to the guy and bring him down the second he makes the catch. Game over. As soon as you put your head down and close your eyes like that you give up any control over the situation.

And thats maybe not even the worst part of it. The worst part is that in addition to totally blowing his own job, he took out his fucking teammate!!! There was another DB within 2-3yards of Diggs when he makes the catch. Diggs had to regain his balance and turn his body before setting off upfield. Mr Stupid's teammate was already facing and moving towards the endzone, there's no way Diggs wins that footrace. Game over, Saints win.

I swear, i thought i'd seen the pinnacle of dumb Safety play in the playoffs with Rahim Moore. But at least Moore tried to make a play on the damn ball. Knucklehead here just bailed out like a pussy at the last moment, then chopped down the one guy who could've saved his sorry ass.

Dude just torpedoed a years worth of work for every single person in his building. Stupid ass Saint.

Tim that sounds way too much like excuse making and this clown aint worth it. Are you talking specifically about the spot foul rule?

I'm sure you realise that if PI was a 15yard penalty Williams could've simply ran up and tackled Diggs before the ball got there and won the game. You really think thats a good way for football to start being played and games decided? Cos i don't.

I agree, i hate them more this year. Anytime a team in our division does well i hate them more cos they don't deserve it.

And yes the way things have fallen into place for the Vikes, particularly at the QB position makes me sick so F them

lol, you're reading too much into a simple observation.

Williams is at fault, no one else. He appeared to change his mind about going after Diggs' legs. The most likely reasoning behind that would be a fear of drawing the flag.

Now, I watched DBs hang on receivers all day yesterday. Rhodes and Abouye made a living off of a fistful of jersey in the back of the receiver. It's because of how PI is not called in any kind of consistent manner that DBs are always going to be walking, and crossing, a fine line that is never finely defined.

And no, I don't have any reason to want to change the rules for distance in PI.

I still hate the Vikes as much as always and I don’t want to see them host the Super Bowl....so sadly I gotta root for a team from Philly next Sunday.

I give the Jags no shot at New England. Bortles blows. If the Jags defense is stout and they control the clock and then run the ball....maybe? But Bortles....blows.

  12. blang84 Legend Bears

It was a stupid, boneheaded play, no excuse for it. But the more I look at it, the throw was perfect, the catch was perfect and Diggs probably gets out of bounds with 2 seconds left even if Williams squares up correctly for the tackle. The Vikings deserve credit for the play, which they're not getting as all of us pile on Williams.

He does. But he played pretty well yesterday. If he doesn't turn it over, the run game and defense are good enough to make every game a coin flip. I do not want to watch him in the Super Bowl. It would be like Trent Dilfer, undeserving disgrace to the magnificence that is the Super Bowl.

I'm certainly no fan of the Vikings, however a Keenum vs Bortles Super Bowl would perfectly sum up this NFL season.

I was more just giving my general opinion on the whole debacle/having a bit of a rant because im pissed off at those stupid ass Saints for being such a bunch of bungle merchants. I didn't think you were giving Williams a pass. Also, i was venting at what a bungle merchant clown car of fuckery that play was by those bungling Saints who are a bunch of slack jawed bungle merchants.

Ahh, i see. I thought maybe you were hinting at a rule change re PI. Its something that was discussed on here some time ago. Can't remember who but a couple of guys were in favour i believe.

The pass protection also, was excellent. I personally think he can def get Diggs down in bounds as Diggs wasn't right on the sideline, but we'll never know.

The whole thing left an extra sour taste in my mouth because i think that was a much tougher game for the Vikes than whoever they got next. They're gonna roll the Eagles next week. Between the DL and that secondary Foles isn't gonna know what hit him.

And then i have the thankless task of choosing between the greatest dynasty of knaves in NFL history, or a team that plays in our division and wears purple*.

    You gypseys.

I know I'm in the extreme minority on this but years ago I decided I loved Tom Brady so I don't mind him adding rings. I don't care for Pats fans or their owner, but Brady is a straight killer who plays every season at the highest level. It's impossible to not admire that.

And I'm not certain the Vikings win next week. The Eagles defense is also really tough and the home field advantage will be massive. That game is a coin flip.

I personally think that the quality right now in the entire NFL is about as bad as it has been in a long time. I only watched the Saints game because I love Drew Brees and I was pissed that the defensive guy blew the game on the last play. I just really don't enjoy watching football much anymore. Too many ticky tack penalties, bad refereeing, and assholes chirping all the time on the field.

This year has interested me more than past years, and its primarily because of new teams, but also a new, bucking trend that makes me have a little more faith in the NFL than in years prior and everything the pundits and "experts" say--that you have to have a quarterback to win. Well, 3 of the 4 teams are in the NFC/AFC championship game with average quarterbacks (yes, I get Philly is an entirely different situation because Wentz went down and Nick Foles probably never planned to see the field).

And not just that, Case Keenum makes 2 million this year on his one year "prove it" deal, and we got Mike Glennon....or a mentally disabled giraffe. My vision as I enter my 30s later this year is beginning to go, so I cant really tell the difference.

Keenum is going to get paid something stupid this offseason, and Minnesota will actually be interesting to watch, because Teddy Bridgewater said he doesn't want to be a back up and he's under contract, and Sam Bradford also doesn't want to be a back up, and he's an unrestricted free agent with Keenum.

Before this year, I was becoming more turned off by the NFL. The bears were crap, and I was/still am tired of seeing the packers, patriots, steelers, and seahawks. If those 4 teams were bad for the next decade, I wouldn't miss them, and I'd be excited. Excited to see new teams. Last week's Buffalo/Jacksonville "thriller" excited me. It was bad, stupid, shitty, and boring football, but for once I didn't have to hear Jim Nantz or Joe Buck verbally perform fellatio on Tom Brady/Rodgers/Brees/Wilson/Rothlesburger or something they did, or how graceful they look when they bitch to the referees about not getting calls. They had

And I ultimately think that fatigue resonates with fans who don't like NE, GB, Seattle, and Pittsburgh. It makes more sense with shitty referees and no parity unless its a brief glimpse in years past until this year. Last year I wanted to see the Raiders, even without Carr--because it was something different.

The refs just make things worse too. Put them together, and it just makes more sense than people being mad at Colin Kaepernick for taking a knee being the reason fans ignore the NFL in recent years (amid yearly record-breaking profits.) And if you boycott the NFL because of Kaepernick and players taking a knee, well--you're an idiot.

And as for the Vikings pulling it out at the last second and some of us wanting them to lose to the Saints? Nah. Y'all aren't harsh enough. I want them to be the first team to make the superbowl they host, only to have it be a heartbreaking loss.

Preferably to Blake Bortles, but sadly the refs aren't going to let New England lose this weekend. They made sure Tennessee became disinterested, fast--and I expect the Jags D to attack Brady and hit the crap out of him like the Giants did in superbowls they beat him. But. I expect bad calls in the Pats' favor. I don't have expectations for the Jaguars, but I'd love to see those ugly ass uniforms playing the queens. And I want to see Leonard Fournette run over everything and everybody.

This is one for the ages, what a rant. If you didn't catch the play, like me, you can catch it here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...gs-walk-off-touchdown/?utm_term=.3ed51966d40b

Without watching the game live, just seeing those snippets, how can you excuse the play there? Horrific, as Ev points out.

So much this. A heartbreaking loss to the Jags would be perfect, but I'll take a shellacking by the Patriots too.
