LOL really? I never blamed McD, "yet". I said he was dumb for not going OOB. The Steelers scored next play and let the Jags go to the 2-minute warning afterwards so it was moot but it could have easily directly affected Steelers chances.

Trying to bounce it off a Jaguar was so dumb because the clock runs the moment the ball is touched by a defender outside their endzone. Even if the Steelers recovered the game would have been over.

I'm gonna take a guess here and say thats the most points the Steelers D has given up this season? And it happened against the Jags. If you'd told me beforehand i just wouldn't have believed it, especially after last week. Crazy game sometimes.

No, the onside kick was actually the right call. You simply have to get the ball back and the onside kick gives you 2 chances to do that versus 1 by kicking it deep. Your talking about 30ish yards of field position if the both kicks are executed right. You don't give up an extra chance to get the ball for 30-35yards of field position.

But what you def can't do is put in as bad an onside kick as that. That was just horrible. The penalty cost them another 3 points.

 

Fire your special teams coach for going short onside then ricochet onside attempt with only 1 second on the clock.
