Check out the past few pages of the draft thread. I cover edge and OT. OT has more than just one prospect right now. Edge rankings really haven't much changed much, and more people like me are cold on Arden Key. OT has improved. I count 4 guys that are 1st rounders right now, and I covered all of them (tape only on O'Neill). Now, some of you may know me to despise the idea of trading down. I do. I still do. Till the day I die I'll never understand fucktard fans clamoring to trade down for the sake of doing so. I think its nowhere near as easy or simple as "oh, just match up point values of draft picks and ta-dah!" It takes 2 teams to deal. And Buffalo has picks, a lower pick than the bears in the 1st round, and wants a QB because Peterman blows and they're done with Tyrod Taylor. It makes sense, but if you're buffalo, instead of trading to #8 for the 3rd or 4th of the top 5-6 QBs that CAN go in the 1st round, you trade up to get the top one. But if you're lucky, someone (like this past year) trades up because they like Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, or Mason Rudolph that early. Buffalo has 2 1sts, 2 2nds this year if I recall. And multiple picks in early rounds next year. They stockpiled something ridiculous. Of course, I'm sold on a couple guys right now at 8 even after my favorite guy (Edge Rusher Bradley Chubb) wont be there. I like the tackle from Pitt, the edge rushers from Kansas and Clemson (Dorance Armstrong and Clelin Ferrell). I don't love WR that high. I'm still hesitant to just immerse myself into tape for DB. The bears will probably need one, I just don't know if CB will be a premium pick in the top rounds.
I would be a big fan of going OT with the first pick. But I wouldn’t be mad if they take the best edge rusher on the board. What’s the mid rounds look like for speed receivers pat?
Anthony Miller out of the University of Memphis. But I have a feeling he isn't going to stay a mid round speed guy. I think he creeps up into the mid to late 2nd. Deontay Burnett out of USC is another, however, he needs 25 lbs and the ability to maintain his speed/quickness. He cant be 170 lbs at the NFL level, he'd get rocked. Much more likely your round 3-4 guy. Florida's Antonio Callaway is a 3-undrafted free agent right now, and he's done some supremely stupid things off-field. Like steal some guy's credit card to try and transfer money to himself, only to now be facing felony charges. If that's a must have for you, he would be a 1st round projection otherwise to many scouts--which is why trying to gauge where he gets taken is hard. The NFL only really seems to care about pot smokers/PED users and beating women, so a little larceny could be overlooked. Florida suspended him multiple times this year, poor Jim McElwain. However, with him being that stupid and charges still pending, I don't know if a team will ignore his "flaws" and take him, because he's a play maker; the more zealous scouts that like him compare him to Antonio Brown. Callaway's teammate, Brandon Powell also is a burner. But he's a projected late rounder and a slot guy because he's short (5'8) and has limited abilities, although his speed is an attribute. Christian Kirk is still the best one; he's in the draft thread (with Miller) and scouts compare him to OBJ, but he's a 1st round pick right now. So I presume he's not going to be considered if you want mid rounders. In summary, there aren't tons of "speed" WRs right now. Tons of guys with size this year. This is it, so far. A couple more guys may declare still.
I've seen some comparisons to Antonio Brown, but at the end of the day if he has all these issues now what's going to happen when he gets paid? How about Parris Campbell Ohio State with speed almost on par with Kirk but lacking Kirk's numbers?
Forgot about him. Campbell confuses me. I read his biggest strength is his speed and quickness, yet one of his biggest weaknesses is his inability to separate from the defensive back. His route running is also crap. Kind of reminds me of Deonte Thompson in a few ways. Some scouts think he goes the H-Back route, similar to Ty Montgomery. Urban Meyer did use him in packages similar to Montgomery in that offense.
I think that Nagy is going to benefit by the results of Pace's last draft in that I think Fox and company totally misused most of his picks. To Nagy, I think he is getting a guy in Cohen that he can form into a dynamic offensive resource as well as a tight end that can be a good offensive addition. I just think that Fox really blows as a guy to develop offensive talent. The defense with Fangio did much better.
