I read this last night. I just can't see them trading him.

Why would they teade him? They just built a plant where they're working on robotic auston parts.

I didn't even read the article until I saw it posted elsewhere by chance. It wasn't worth my time.

Ekman larsson is a -37, another offensive D, and going into a contract year in 2018.

What Vollman doesn't get, is that if you end up getting value in return, you'll have to pay them too. The reason why the lindros deal worked out great was because you didn't have to worry about cap space back then. Also, they didn't have a choice, he didn't want to play for quebec.

Jack Johnson has asked for a trade. The Jackets have a talented D, but they do not have great depth on the blue line. I think they'll insist on D-for-D. A team always loses leverage when it's known that a player has asked to be moved. There's even less leverage when you're asking for D in return. I have a recommendation that may not seem plausible at first look.

The Colorado Avalanche have been playing tremendous hockey recently and are in the playoff picture. They have superlative young F's. They have help in the near term on D. (Makar and Timmons were major helpers for golden Canada in Buffalo). The team is loaded with futures after Sajik humped Ottawa. Much to look forward to in the Mike High. Colorado should be buyers at the deadline.

Girard (from Nashville in the Sens' bashing) is outstanding! Makar, Timmons, and (injured) Tyson Barrie all play the speedy shot-taking style the NHL now dictates. The Avs would really benefit from a complementary veteran player like Jack.

    N. Zadorov is young former first round pick that nearly had his career derailed by Darcy Regier in Buffalo. He's also one tough Ruskie. He's come on nicely lately, and I think he may thrive in an org with strong D and where he's not expected to play top pair minutes.

Jack for Nich. It makes sense to me

I don't know how much value Jack holds at this time though. It's his contract year, 31 years old and having a real bad year. If the avs really want him, I think they could get him a lot cheaper.
Jack could revamp his career with a strong finish playing for the Avs. The way he's playing now, he could be in the KHL by next season.

    I disagree.

I can't see any good reason for the Avs to make that deal, they have Zadorov signed next season on the cheap. Johnsons been overpaid for the last three years, age is 31 to 22, plus you get Zadorov for next year. CBJ just might be up for taking a 3rd rounder just to get him off their hands.

Looks like Jack Johnson wants out so we’ll see what it’s gonna take to get him but I don’t think it will be much. His constant brain farts in weighing risk vs reward have always been his nemesis. And his parents.

He went bankrupt just 3 years ago, Jacks one of those players you'll read about still playing in europe by 2027.

I'm hearing that there's teams out there willing to part with offensive depth for johnson. Also, give him a $5M/per extension, ok.
