  1. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

    *1-1: Saquon Barkley, RB
    1.21: Josh Jackson, CB
    1.22: Josh Allen, QB

    Fixed.

  2. Where do you guys keep seeing Hurst as the consensus #1 DT? I think Payne and Vea will go ahead of him and possibly Wilkins

I think it's silly to argue with people over a few spots this early in the process. Obviously, if I said the Browns could get Vea in the third or something that'd be crazy, but I think most folks feel Hurst and Vita Vea are probably the top guys at the spot - from what I've seen and heard.

Doesn't mean that Da'Ron Payne or Taven Bryan - or my guy, Kendrick Norton - won't end up being drafted before them.

Lot of ground left to cover.

    Fair enough...New scenario:
    1.1 - Traded to Giants for 1.2 and 2.2
    1.2 - Baker Mayfield
    1.4 - Traded to Buffalo for #21, #22, 3rd rounder, future 1st.
    1.21- Maurice Hurst
    1.22- Josh Jackson
    2.1- Bryce Love
    2.2- Mike McGlinchy
    2.4- Calvin Ridley
2nd rounder from Philly traded predraft for Alex Smith.

I will vomit blood if the Browns trade out of Minkah Fitzpatrick or Saquon Barkley to select a cornerback and defensive tackle.

Stopper, you don't follow very well. I even said directly in the post that Vea, Payne and Wilkins are ranked ahead of Hurst on most lists...lol!

    IMO Hurst is under-rated....

I posted Bucky Brooks' tweet a few pages back, but need to echo the sentiment I guess...

No quarterback in this class is a can't miss guy - they all have flaws. It's going to be up to talent evaluators (which we're currently loading up on) to make the right call for their franchise. It's not likely Mayfield ends up being the top guy, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Mayfield is short and has an arrest - one-time event. That's it. Coaches love him. Players love him. He sells (now we've got Huckleberry's attention). He carried his team and has elite QB traits. He's the ultimate under-dog, having to work twice as hard for everything he accomplished in NCAA football. That will be a big selling point with GMs in interviews.

Rosen has elite mechanics and a plus arm with good pocket mobility. He's not a next-gen QB in terms of scrambling or outside the pocket throwing ability. He's got durability issues BIG TIME and there are some questions about his attitude/personality. Plus, he already called his shot with not wanting to play for Cleveland. Despite that, he's probably the most "pro ready" guy in the class.

Darnold is a classic NFL guy's QB, but he's extremely young and raw. His mechanics are garbage at times and his arm is just average. He's got a pristine image and football-first mindset but if you rush him you could irreparably damage him (al la, DeShone Kizer). Folks will never look past the prototype at the myriad of flaws.

Allen is the Blake Bortles of the bunch - who was a bit of a surprise as the first QB taken in 2014 - and has the tangibles that scouts love. His arm strength is HOF-caliber and his size/speed is tantalizing but he's a dumpster fire as a passer and fails miserably from the pocket. If you're banking on ceiling, he's your guy though.

Jackson is a human cheat code with unreal speed/agility. He throws a nice ball and while he's not a refined passer, has upside here - he's not just a glorified running back like Mike Vick was. He's a high-character guy but because of his running ability and some inherent NFL bias some view him as out of position at QB - which is ridiculous.

I think Jackson might be the best cover CB in this draft...And I love Barkley, but there is a ton of quality at RB. Not saying it would be a bad move, but I'd be hesitant to pull the trigger on one inside the top 4 picks...I guess the sting of Trent Richardson is still to fresh in my memory.

I'm starting to lean that way, too, actually. Love Barkley but man the running back depth is fantastic.

THIS is why they didn't let Hue Jackson go down there.

    FROM; Bleacher Report

A Perfect Marriage of QB and Team

Allow me to spout some common sense that requires no attribution or high IQ (if it did, I'd be sunk) or sources or anything else to figure out: The Chiefs might trade quarterback Alex Smith, and the Browns would be one of the teams interested.

Smith carries a $20.6 million salary-cap hit next season, according to Spotrac. Kansas City may decide Smith warrants that number. Head coach Andy Reid could instead choose to roll with 2017 first-round pick Patrick Mahomes.

To the Browns, Smith would likely serve as a two- or three-year stopgap while they figure out their long-term quarterback plan. He'd automatically be the best quarterback the Browns have had since they returned almost 20 years ago.

Put Smith with Josh Gordon, and that'd be a powerful duo. Smith could change the Browns' entire culture almost overnight.

And with three second-round draft picks this year, Cleveland has plenty of capital to deal for Smith.

It's almost perfect. It might even be Browns-proof.

Well anyway, Hurst is a guy that I think will rocket up the boards, just like demolisher said...

Another D-lineman riser to watch out for? I know you'll say I'm biased, but before it's all said and done, Sam Hubbard will be in the top-25 of this draft as well...

Maybe if we keep pilfering from the first two teams that ever made it to a Super Bowl, we too will make it someday....

The person responsible for updating the Cleveland Browns org chart on the team’s website has been a very busy individual the last few days. Cleveland has hired another outsider, according to reports out of Kansas City.

This time it’s pro scout Jim Noel getting a nameplate in Berea.

Chiefs pro scout Jim Noel is also joining Dorsey in Cleveland, per sources

Noel spent one season in that capacity with the Chiefs after being promoted from a scouting assistant role by none other than new Browns GM John Dorsey.

He’s still quite young. Noel played defensive back Boston College from 2009-12 and briefly tried out for the Seattle Seahawks before the 2013 season. He’s been with the Chiefs since 2015, rising quickly from scouting intern.

In addition to luring Noel, the Browns also hired scout Matt Donahue from Kansas City.

Plus, we released Ryan Grigson and hired a couple other scouts to go with Noel.

All this front office transition is crazy when you think that actually, Cleveland has a .500 roster outside of QB.

No doubt...Imagine if they actually had a guy that every player believed in. The Browns were insane to go into last year with what they had at QB. Either that or they actually wanted another tank season, which is mind numbingly stupid, and that's why they deserved a parade. BUT ANYWAY, just do the right thing Dorsey. Go get ol' reliable Alex Smith, and then take your most educated shot at a young QB in the draft. We roll in to next year with a solid QB situation for the first time in forever, and suddenly the Browns could at least be in the hunt...A real solid 2018 draft, and who knows how far they could go. They could be next year's Jaguars.
