Depends on who they bring in, but the situation for transition is not bleak. They have defensive pieces and an overall unit that is good enough to carry them while they get their new quarterback/coach situation sorted. Having a healthy David Johnson makes that a lot easier of a task.

Personally I think he is over rated to begin with yes he won a SB in Tampa and he built the Raiders team that went to the SB that year but the Tampa team quickly faded after that win.

the trickle effect happened. If Arians stayed I bet Carson sucked it up for 1 year but he doesn't like their outlook so he hung them up. the question now is does Fitz retire? He just signed an extension but it was in part to make a run with Palmer.

I would say it depends on which coach and which QB end up in Arizona.

And the Ravens lost on purpose to save his job.

It's tough to put Tampa's fall on him, though he certainly is a big part of that story. The Glazers paid a huge ransom to Al Davis to get him - two first round picks and two second round picks (plus $8 million in cash). The Bucs already had salary cap issues, and naturally everyone's price tags went up after they won the championship. Throw in that they were without four top draft picks over the next three seasons and it's no surprise they slid.

Something to consider though... since firing Chucky after the 2008 season, the Bucs have had ZERO postseason appearances, only two seasons with winning records, and a cumulative winning percentage under 35%. And following that 2002 season, the Raiders didn't have another winning season until 2016.

That may be true but its not like they have had any stability during that time either. 9 years 4 head coaching changes isn't going to spell success. He is supposed to be an offensive genius during his coaching the average scoring rank for Tampa was 21st and had an average offensive rank of 20th. Since he has left the average scoring position for Tampa is 22nd and average position for offense is 19th. Maybe his success in Tampa had more to do with Monte Kiffin and the Defense (btw average def rank with monte 8th in scoring 5th in yards allowed since he left 22nd in scoring and 23rd in yards allowed).
