Where Do We Go From Here?

Didn't yesterday's press conference kind of make ya throw up a little when Hue started rambling with his completely hollow words about getting the organization back to winning ways? Good lord, have we not heard that speech from him at least twice before? And why is he calling a press conference to announce he's returning anyway? Was that just so he could thumb his nose at the reporters who dared to criticize him, and questioned his continued involvement? Or dared to suggest he hire an OC? I think so...And that says something about the man. Hue even mentioned how Dorsey would have no say in the hiring of an OC, and that it would be up Hue to make that call. lol! As if he has some kind of clout with his 1-31 record.....idk. I thought it was sickening.

Hue Jackson went 0-16 (and 1-31 overall) and still has a job. Didn't cost him a thing.

Both are fact. However, you stated he did that intentionally = assinine.

It wouldn't upset me in the least if this was the endgame...I am just not wasting energy "wishing" it would happen. The clear news out of Berea is he will be with the Browns for 2018, so right now I am more interested in who they are going to bring in to make him a better coach...that obviously starts with the OC and what I am most interested in at the moment.

IF this happens, I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in Jack Del Rio, if I'm throwing out names...but again, I don't see it happening at the moment.

If Hue is here April 25th, I'm not taking a QB in the first three rounds.

Im not sure what I would do if I just I told my boss:

"I have a great idea, a 5 year plan. Its not going to be good for business for the first two years, but when were get ready to begin year three we will be set up in such a way that we could be more successful than any other version of this business in recent memory."

He proceeds to buy in, tell everyone in the world that he buys in, then fires me and keeps an underling who has looked clueless all along and more than likely sabotaged the as much as he could.

At what point this season has Hue Jackson acted like he was coaching for his job? Displayed any urgency? Once the plan blew up and Sashi got fired, Hue didn't bat an eye.

Completely possible that he's had Jimmy's blessing.

And to be clear, I'm not saying he tried to lose games. I'm saying he went 0-16 while trying instead to develop a second round QB versus playing the smartest game and roster he could to win and be competitive.

Exactly how does someone unintentionally try to do something?

    Is this for real?

For starters, naming DeShone Kizer the starter over Josh McCown, Brock Osweiler, Cody Kessler, and Kevin Hogan.

Then, instead of doing what every other NFL coach forced to start a rookie has done and supporting the young player by leaning heavily on the running game and simplifying the offense, he abandoned the run recklessly and handed DeShone a full playbook, one that asks more of its quarterback post-snap than any other offense in the NFL.

Then, instead of using high-percentage plays in the passing game, you call a mind-boggling number of vertical routes and lower percentage throws. You call plays like Tom Brady is lining up under center.

Then, in the middle of ride-or-die with this player who you've already stunted in growth, you bench that player. Multiple times.

I mean... what evidence did you see at any point this season that Hue Jackson tried to win a football game?

Sean Ryan has been at Houston for two seasons, formerly the wide receiver's coach. Prior to that, he was the wide receiver's and quarterback's coach with the New York Giants.

Bill O'Brien was not going to relinquish play-calling duties and supposedly Ryan really wants to call plays.

    Real as death and taxes.

You stated Hue INTENTIONALLY went 0-16. I called that comment assinine. Just own it.

OBTW: Josh McCown wasn't even on the roster when Jackson named Kizer as the starting QB.

I laughed pretty hard at that one...Oh man. What is happening to this franchise?

  17. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

You have again failed to answer the question. Please show any evidence that Hue intentionally did try to win games.

And Hue Jackson had a say over the QBs on the roster. Releasing McCown (who went 0-3 for Hue in 2016) would not have happened had it not been signed off on by Hue.

  18. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

It's only a little tongue-in-cheek. Hue has failed rookie QBs. He's only had success - outside of Flacco, if you can call Flacco a success - with veteran QBs who he hasn't had a hand in drafting.

lol! FWIW, I don't think Hue was intentionally losing, though he is better at that, than any coach ever has been. I just think he's a horrible QB evaluater, and his judgment on what a given QB is capable of, is atrocious...

This season wasn't ever going to be good, but we did have an opportunity for it to be bearable. That went out the window however, the moment we parted ways with Josh McCown. Yeah, you can blame Sashi too, but Hue is the QB guy. No doubt in my mind that he backed that decision, and sent us on our path to football immortality.

I mean, there is a reason that, prior to the 2017 Browns, no team ever went into a season with 3 QB's that had combined for zero wins in this league....

0.26% chance of going winless. Hue intentionally made decisions that made it impossible for this team to win.
