The Sooners scored 48 points Joe. What were they holding back. Georgia is just a better team. They did win the SEC. hopefully we get an all SEC championship game just to piss you off Joe.

23 for 35 for 66%. He had some bad passes all on him due to the touch or some overthrows including the INT but he did very well despite that. In a shootout that isn't a ton of attempts, just average, and most were in the first half.13-18, 200, and a touchdown. 2nd half, 10-17, 87 yards and a TD. Many incompletions were on 3rd and long. Mayfield wasn't outstanding but the places where he struggled are going to be shrugged off by scouts as coachable and easily fixed. OU coaches lost the game, not Baker.

Gid I know you like Georgia, try watching the game neutrally, or better yet focus on Oklahoma's play calling. It was bad in the 2nd half and Oklahoma made it relatively easy for Georgia to come back. 14 points for the Sooners in the 2nd half, the one that normally matters. 7 by Mayfield when they were down 7 (hmm they were playing to try to win there) and 7 on defense (where they went back to playing not to lose right after). Now I don't mean to take away from the Bulldogs. They were balling on all 3 fazes, especially in the 2nd half. Good luck. But I'm just trying to focus on Mayfield as that is the topic here. Mayfield wasn't amazing but he played great but had a few overthrown balls and problems getting touch on the ball(or refusing to try to and just zip it in). I do think Oklahoma would have easily won if they kept passing to open up the run like the first half but they didn't and we'll never know. I do think UGA got a bit lucky but they didn't need luck to win. They were awesome.

I hope Georgia wins, it's a long time coming, I don't think Bama should have been in, even though they'd probably deserve it if they win. I even had Georgia at #1 or #2 heading into this with Clemson at #3.

  4. That WR made that drive....it was more or less a jump ball and he came down w it...probably 40 yds+ out of his 87.....you can see in the 2nd half Georgia went to some 3 man rush and mixed it up and Baker was taking sacks...he looked confused after that 1Q

Browns signed WR Kasen Williams, WR C.J. Board, WR Bug Howard, LB Austin Calitro, DB Trevon Hartfield, CB B.W. Webb, RB Josh Rounds, and OL Victo Salako to reserve/future contracts.

I was really thinking that Howard would have gotten a shot after they cut Britt.

Browns to hire Alonzo Highsmith as a personnel VP, reunited with John Dorsey

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns new GM John Dorsey wasted no time putting his stamp on the team.

He hired his longtime Packers personnel associate Alonzo Highsmith as a vice president in the Browns personnel department.

The Browns have yet to announce it or even confirm the interview but Highsmith announced it on Twitter Tuesday night.

An NFL running back for six seasons, Highsmith just completed his 19th season as a personnel man with the Packers, where he worked with Dorsey from 2000-12.

ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky spoke to Highsmith and reported that the exact title is VP of Football Operations.

"We discussed so many ideas and all kinds of stuff,'' Highsmith said of his Tuesday interview. "I was exposed to so much stuff today. That's why I thought it was a great opportunity. It feels good to go somewhere that you feel like you're trusted.''

Highsmith said he didn't think he'd get an interview for the GM vacancy in Green Bay, which came open when GM Ted Thompson transitioned to a senior advisor.

"This is an opportunity to build something from the ground up, having an input, working with John Dorsey, who I respect a great deal," Highsmith said. "To watch his work ethic today - we watched film all day. He made me feel rejuvenated. It was a lot of fun today.

"I understand they've had their difficulties in the past, but I kind of feel like when I went to the University of Miami. Every recruiter from Alabama to Notre Dame to Michigan told me if you go to Miami, you'll never go to a bowl game. We became a dominant program. It kind of feels like that all over again, and that's my mindset. I've never lost, and I don't plan on losing now."

If VP of Football Operations is the right title, he'll likely be the No. 2 man in the behind Dorsey, who has the authority to hire and fire in the department. It remains to be seen if Highsmith will oversee Vice President of Player Personnel Andrew Berry, who was the top talent evaluator in the Sashi Brown regime.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported that the Texans tried to hire Highsmith twice, but Thompson valued him so much he wouldn't let him go.

Highsmith was originally the No. 3 overall pick of the Oilers out of Miami in 1987, and was based in Houston as a Packers scout before moving to Green Bay.

He already has a strong connection to the Browns: he played on the Miami Hurricanes national championship team with Bernie Kosar.

Highsmith was hired as a scout for the Packers in 1999 by Hall of Fame executive Ron Wolf, who recommended Dorsey to Browns owner Jimmy Haslam. Both Highsmith and Dorsey have played in the NFL, which gives them a unique perspective on talent evaluation.

Highsmith was promoted to Packers senior personnel executive in May 2012 after 13 years as a scout for Green Bay, focusing on the Southwest region.

Corey Coleman is being sued over an alleged assault in Coleman’s apartment building.

According to Cory Shaffer of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, Adam Sapp filed the lawsuit against Coleman, his half-brother, Jonathan, Jared Floyd and other unnamed assailants last Friday for an incident that left Sapp bloodied and unconscious in a parking garage.

The suit seeks $25,000 for medical costs and punitive damages against the defendants.

Corey was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing in August as prosecutors determined there was insufficient evidence to charge him with a crime.

Floyd pleaded guilty to attempted felonious assault while Jonathan had a mistrial declared in his case in November due to a hung jury. Hie new trial begins in February.

  11. I've only watched Josh Allen play in his bowl game, so I can't pose an opinion about his talents/or lack thereof. I have watched both Rosen and Darnold play several games, and I don't want either of them on the Browns. They both need at least another year of college ball, and then spend at least a couple seasons riding their respective NFL benches behind a veteran QB. In fact, I don't want the Browns to waste the number one or four pick on a QB in the draft. I'd rather they pick the best and most talented player available in those two spots. A QB is still needed, but I'd look for one via free agency, or a trade, before I'd waste another high draft pick, as they've done in the past.

    Just my opinion. :bored:

    Ironically...

    1. 45 could/should be jailed/impeached in the coming year.
    2. With another loss to tOSU, Jim Harbaugh (already on the hot seat) could be shown the door in the coming year.
    3. Depending on post-season success and health, Ben Roethsliberger could walk away from the Steelers before, during, or after the 2018 season.
    4. Hot Take: Hue Jackson doesn't survive the 2018 BYE week.

    Bring on 2018!!

Just had to share. Laughed my ass off........

My brother-in-law is a Bengals fan and dropped this off today. Thought it was appropriate for me after an 0-16 season.

    Sam,

I know feel your pain. I spent a good part of yesterday arguing with a fellow "fan" on twitter about the state of the team. All he had was "Sashi sux, dem browns is bad. He blew all dem picks" Holy hell it was like talking to a brick wall having to explain the same thing over and over again.
