I'm on board here because, while the Steelers don't have an all pro TE, James has dome pretty well and McDonald may come around. To me RB is the big need if Bell leaves. I wouldn't go out and get one in round one but a free agent could help. As far as WR, JuJu is a solid two and Rogers is there. Depth could come later.

    We'll see.

Your team is in an all to familiar position. That is to draft BPA and shore up the depth on the roster.

I agree, but I also think the Steelers would throw a vote of confidence to James Conner. He has the ability to be a feature back in the NFL. If I draft a running back early it would be for someone like Ronald Jones II who can complement and add an extra dimension to the offense.

Only 1 RB was drafted in the first round of this past draft (Fournette). This year's crop doesn't seem to have the buzz of even last year's group. Its strongly possible to get a really good RB at the end of the first round. Ronald Jones is very feasible. Rashaad Penny would be a good replacement for Bell as well. Penny is similar to Marshall Faulk.
Same college too (SDSU). 2 RBs were drafted in the second round (Cook and Mixon).

The 2 Georgia RBs are worth a 2nd rd pick too.

I know you haven't been around for awhile but there was a guy in here last January that said Kamara in the 2nd and his Tennessee teammate at QB in the 4th. I only got half of my wish list and I can't really complain about JuJu in the 2nd.

I forgot about McCafferey. 2 and 2 then.

As a U of Tennessee fan, I was telling everyone that whoever landed Kamara was going to be really happy. The kid was a beast in college. Watch Tenn vs. Texas A&M sometime on YouTube. He was unstoppable.

What do u guys think of Penn St QB McSorely

Kind of reminds me of Brees.

Not trying to be an ass here, but Brees was great in college. McSorely isn't anywhere near Brees. IMHO McSorely reminds me more like one of the many Alabama Qbs. ie. John Parker Wilson.

No offense taken, what I meant by “remindis me of Brees” is his stature and throwing motion, not his stats or “body of work” in college.

Agree with Wazoo . . . He's no Drew Brees. But I've watched him twice now this past season. And while I was somewhat impressed with him, I was even more impressed with those very young Penn State wide receivers.

Baker Mayfield just annoys me I just think he’s a dickhead. Cleanest pick for QB is Lamar Jackson but he looked like sh1t vs. Mississippi State.

    No likey UCLA’s Rosen?

Rosen has major character issues, the most egregious is “entitlement”

This QB class probably won't live up to the hype. I was all for selling the farm to trade up and pick a franchise QB back when Ben was playing like sh1t, but not only is he no longer playing like sh1t, but more cracks in the prospects are beginning to show.

Josh Rosen - Has outright declared that he doesn't want to be drafted by the Browns. I don't blame him, but how big of an entitled douche can you be? His team doesn't give him glowing reviews as a teammate. When was the last time a good QB came out of UCLA?

Mason Rudolph - Good production, but has a limited ceiling. Only average arm talent. But, he's got an ideal QB stature, so some team will overrate him based on that and his college numbers alone, which IMO are inflated by the offense he plays in.

Lamar Jackson - Every running-based QB to ever play was used as a comparison to Jackson. I've seen him compared to Michael Vick and RGIII. Can succeed, but will need a great supporting cast and coaching staff. Spindly frame looks more like a WR than a QB - size may not be everything but Jackson is so small that it's worrying. He may be a frequent inclusion on the injury report at the next level. Unlikely to be on Russel Wilson's or Deshaun Watson's level.

Sam Darnold - No better than Matt Leinart, Matt Barkley, or any of the other mincemeat to emerge from USC's hype train. Had a bad 2017 season and now he may not even declare for the draft.

Josh Allen - The best arm in this draft class. Paxton Lynch is the best comparison I can think of. Extremely raw. Will need two years to even think about being ready. Less than 57% completion rate is awful and puts him in dreadful company (Christian Hackenberg, Kyle Boller, Derek Anderson, etc)

Ryan Finley - May not even declare, but looks pretty solid. Not the most talented, but he's smart and hard-working. The middle of his trajectory could be as a quality backup or low-end starter who can win some games.

Luke Falk - Gross. No upside. Air-Raid offense makes for a long learning curve for any NFL offense. Below-average arm talent. May not even be drafted.

Baker Mayfield - By all accounts the most likely to be a franchise QB in the NFL. To me, he looks like Russel Wilson on the field. Teams may be turned off by his attitude and demeanor, but his teammates reportedly love playing for him. Has a nasty competitive streak and incredible work ethic. However, also has a public intoxication arrest on his record. It might be worth monitoring to see how NFL QB money affects him.

Sam Darnold's situation reminds me of someone who used to play in Pittsburgh. Dan Marino was supposed to be the greatest QB ever his senior year at Pitt, but he wanted to party more than concentrate on football then. I'm not sure what Darnold's issues are or even if he is anywhere near comparable to Marino. I know it is blasphemy to mention Marino and Darnold in the same paragraph and I'm not saying he's the next Marino, but shit happens and he might be as good as they thought he would be for whatever reason. He will definitely drop and who knows what his future holds. Just knowing his story really reminds me of experiencing Marino close up in the late 70s and early 80s.

  20. A real bad OL(USC) can do that....Rosen and Darnold are head n shoulders the best 2 QBs
