That is irrelevant because of THIS: “The officials inadvertently miscommunicated to the Los Angeles sideline that it was a full timeout instead of a 30-second timeout” following Murray’s touchdown, NFL spokesman Michael Signora wrote in an email to The Tennesseean. “When L.A. was not ready for the kickoff due to the miscommunication, the officials decided to shut it down and allow for a re-kick.”
The refs threw a penalty flag (that was picked up), called a timeout (but couldn't explain that event coherently enough to push off idiocy and/or suspicion), and would've shot down a passenger aircraft had one of them been packing the heat to do so. #moreNFLbuffoonery #NFLLookingRiggedLately
Oh this only accentuates that the refs were incompetent, but it the end they play was rightfully not counted at no fault to the Titans.
After the game, Titans kicker Ryan Succop said that the ball had been put in play by an official, that an official had given a signal to begin play, and that the play clock was running when he kicked the ball. “Obviously, the referee always tells me, ‘Wait till we blow the whistle,’” Succop said. “And he put the ball down, I saw him give the signal like it was a live ball, and I even looked and saw the play clock counting down. And credit our guys, they did a great job. The LA Rams were lividly protesting the claim they called a timeout at all. The refs were idiots and tried to pull a miracle out of their collective arses and failed miserably.
Whether they did or didn't, a referee still told the Rams there was a 60-second timeout in affect. At that point the Rams should not be expected to be ready for any play before that time elapses. The refs blew it badly but the Rams should not be punished for it.
Good thing the outcome of the game wasn't impacted by that one screw up due to the blowout that it was./s
I'll take "More NFL Officials' Fuck Ups" for $200... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...s-owner-baffled-by-kelvin-benjamin-nontd-call And I'll give you 3 guesses who benefited from this BIG fuck up. New England (again) ... SURPRISE!
People will point at the final score but the New England calls that went their way completely changed the momentum of the game.
Official to Bills: “I don’t know” why Kelvin Benjamin TD was overturned The Bills weren’t the only ones confused about why Kelvin Benjamin‘s touchdown was overturned on replay Sunday. The officials on the field didn’t know why the call was changed, either. A video from Sunday’s game shows Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor and coach Sean McDermott both talking to the officials on the sideline, seeking an explanation for why the ruling on the field of a touchdown was reversed to incomplete. But that change was made by the league’s head of officiating, Al Riveron, and the officials in the stadium couldn’t explain what Riveron was thinking. “That’s a hell of a throw, and a catch, I thought,” deep judge Mark Hittner told Taylor. McDermott then asked, “How is that incomplete?” to which Hittner replied, “I don’t know.” The point of instant replay is supposed to be fixing obvious errors — the kind of mistake that anyone can easily see. If the error isn’t obvious to an NFL official, it’s hard to see how it could be a mistake obvious enough that it should have been overturned. Riveron has a problem on his hands if his own officials are acknowledging to the players and coaches on the sideline that they don’t know what Riveron was thinking. (PFT)
As much as the commissioner talks about hating the Pats the league knows where the money comes from. When the Pats do well there is more profit to be had.
