Thanks for ending the Crosby drought. And ... since we like Penz stats so much, TEH PHIL is the ONLY Penguin currently with a positive (+/-), +2.
100 games into his career, Auston Matthews has tallied 52 goals, the only player in the league with a higher total in that time span would be Nikita Kucherov at 57.
Since TEH PHIL blessed Apostle Sid, those 2 have a combined 11 points (6 Crosby/5 TEH PHIL) in their last 2 games.
Nate had 2 PP's vs. the Sabres last night in Denver. Buffalo looked like a real NHL team with a 4-2 spanking of the home team. (A beautiful shortie - all to ROR's credit - got Buffalo rolling.)
Yeah. Jake McCabe, no less! He's been rather invisible this season, so it was extra sweet. The officials took a loooong time reviewing the play after a coaching challenge that BUF had been offsides. Given the way these things have gone - and given Buffalo's luck this year - I was somewhat surprised that the goal was not waived. Buffalo had a lot more PIM than the Avs in the game, and in fact it was the PP that made the stats & game look like this was rather close. My friend - who was attending his first hockey game ever - commented that it looked like Buffalo was the much better team. From the mouths of babes... Let's see if this works: This is a clip of BUF's shortie. They pan the stands and a piss-yellow Sabres sweater can be seen rather prominently. (I've taken it out of retirement due to the Sabres piss-poor season. My friend is sporting the more stylish home uni #55.)
As of Dec. 11, 25% of the schools in the NCAA top 20 rankings are in New York State. Do not quibble over three of those five being ranked 18, 19, & 20. Two (40%) are ranked in the top 5. Clarkson is having a stellar campaign at #4. That leaves the crowd favorite Cornell Big Red at #5. Go Big Red! (Wish we still had color here. Or, am I missing something?)
The color is still here... just be sure to highlight the phrase in question then click the color button to choose your pleasure. BTW - color might have to be chosen before you enlarge...
12/21/72 Bobby Orr breaks Doug Harvey’s NHL record for career points by a defenseman with 541. Took Harvey 1113 games, took Orr 423.
