I don't think James "NFL caught" that sumbitch, but I can't believe they overturned the call based on the replays I saw during the re-broadcast tonight. I was so covered in beer, rain and terrible towel drippings after this play that I had no idea it was questionable for awhile
With that said, the biggest travesty in that football game was the Steelers last offensive play with the fake-spike that fooled no one. The Steelers had plenty of time to run a play even though the clock was running and I really wish Martavis Bryant had been on the field
Ben could have easily thrown it away. He didn't. Actually for a moment he looked confused. Play for the FG and OT.
I have to play for the win from the 8 yard line with Brady-Gronk on the sideline. Fade to Bryant would be my call, or a wheel route to Bell (he ran a few stop routes from the backfield)
Legendary broadcaster Dick Enberg dies at 82 Lengendary sports broadcaster Dick Enberg died Thursday in La Jolla, Calif. at age 82, according to Bryce Miller of the San Diego Union-Tribune. Enberg was a fixture in sports broadcast from 1957 to 2016 when he retired from his final job as play-by-play voice of the San Diego Padrews. He began his career in 1957 as play-by-play voice of University of Indiana football and men’s basketball and became one of the most recognizable voices in broadcasting. He lent his voice to events all across the sporting landscape during his career. Enberg called games in the NFL, MLB and NBA as well as college football and basketball games. He also worked multiple Olympic Games, PGA Tour events, the Masters, Wimbledon, the French Open, the Kentucky Derby, the Breeders’ Cup for various networks. Enberg also served as the dedicated play-by-play voice for Indiana (1957-1961), UCLA men’s basketball (1966-1977), the Los Angeles Rams (1966-1977), the California Angels (1969-1978, 1985) and the Padres (2010-2016). Enberg called NFL games for NBC from 1977-1998, including eight Super Bowls. He won the Pete Rozelle Award from the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999 for his “longtime exceptional contributions to radio and television in professional football.” He also called NFL games for CBS and Westwood One radio before heading back to baseball in 2010.
Le’Veon Bell closing in on 8,000 scrimmage yards, faster than any player ever Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell is likely to top 8,000 career yards from scrimmage this season, and if he does, he’ll have done it faster than any player in NFL history. Bell is currently at 7,899 scrimmage yards in 61 career games. If he totals at least 101 yards in this week’s game against the Texans, he’ll have 8,000 in 62 games, faster than any other player. In fact, even if Bell falls short of 101 this week but gets to 8,000 next week against the Browns, he’ll be at 8,000 yards in 63 games, which would still be the fastest in history. Currently, the distinction of being the fastest player to 8,000 scrimmage yards goes to Eric Dickerson, who did it in his first 64 career games. LaDainian Tomlinson and Edgerrin James each did it in their first 65 games. Jim Brown did it in 67 games and Marcus Allen in 68 games. For this season, Bell is leading the league with 1,849 yards from scrimmage.
Teams feel packer violated ir rules amd feel Rodgers should be released. Sorry for no link to story on tablet and it doesnt always coperate with me.
I read that this morning also, Jean. Problem is, a ton of players have been relegated to the same thing. I don't know how or why the NFL allows this as it is in clear violation of the IR rules.
