I think I want the Bears to lose this week.

Let me rephrase. I think it will be fitting if they do and I wouldn't be bothered.

I have never hoped for a Bears loss. Not for draft position or any other reason. I've always wanted them to win every time they've played.

This week they play the winless Browns. The poster children for how mismanaging a football team from the top down will result in a dumpster fire on the field. The Bears.....have sunken to the level of the Cleveland Browns. Bad ownership....bad front office....bad coaching......piss poor on field results. There was a time that even when the Bears were bad....they weren't bottom feeder bad.

But that's changed. Last season we won 3 games.....an all time franchise low. This season....we've seen some really bad losses....a new low in my opinion when we lost to a Rodgers-less Packers team when the Bears were coming off of winning 2 of their last 3 and making a good defensive effort in a loss in New Orleans.....that Sunday against the Packers the Bears should have come out motivated....hungry....and showed some heart while ripping the Packers barely beating one out of their chest. Instead they came out flat and uninspired and lost...at home....to the Packers....yet again.

The Bears...are a bottom feeder. They are in the same category now with the Browns. A joke of a franchise. And a loss to the leagues worst team Sunday would make that official. It will probably end John Fox's coaching career and put Ryan Pace on the hot seat to improve next season or be forced to update his resume and start looking at job openings.

I won't root for the Browns.......but I just kinda hope they win.

This coaching staff from Fox on down never cease to amaze me how they can, week after week, come up with unfathomable ways to under-prepare and under-whelm. We’ll likely experience a whole new way to lose Sunday. In that GB game they had two weeks to double down on under-preparation so in retrospect they didn’t disappoint.

    Sad.

I've often gotten into that "cut off my nose to spite my face" mentality.

I'll even admit (and probably posted) that I was somewhat upset the Bengals mailed it in.

Not that I wanted the Bears to lose, I just didn't want them to win that way - and felt that if the Bengals ha not given up on their coach, they had the talent and "should" have won.

With that, I go back and forth about draft position. I was vehemently against the Cubs tanking for picks. But, it all worked out, I'd say...

I'll be watching the game on Sunday (not going as I gave the tic to my son to take some of his friends). But I'll watch, and hope they win. I don't know how to not want this team to win....

Thats right where i am now too.

The Bears have stunk for so many years now that i can't remember specifically what season this was(maybe Trestman's last?), but do you guys remember we had a long debate on here once about wanting the team to lose for draft position? Well, my position on that hasn't changed. I can't watch a Bears game and root for them to lose, that just won't happen. But i do want them to lose on sunday, just to further embarrass these spineless fucks running the team, who would rather spit on the fans than break with their hollow principle of not firing a coach during the season.

So that leaves me no choice but to not watch the game. This really annoys me. Compared to other sports i like football season has always been way too short.

As for the matchup itself, there's no doubt in my mind the Browns can win this game, thats obvious. I see it coming down to a few things. A big key is if the Browns can establish the run. They do that and as well as moving the ball it'll keep them out of passing situations which'll limit Shizer's chances to turn the ball over.

The other aspect is mentality. The Browns have prob their best chance to win a game all year, but they've also had a long season of tough losses. If they're already shot mentally then they have no chance. But if they still have fight and belief... they can do it. Don't turn the ball over and want it more, and i think they can win.

That said, this is the friggin Bears. It would be just like them to win a shitfest like this. Either way, if the Bears local fanbase has a shred of dignity left(very debatable), there will be a LOT of empty seats sunday. There'd better be a shitload of empty seats.

Fox is gone no matter what happens against the Browns or Vikings. I personally hope we demolish the Browns and will be rooting for that to happen. I could care less about draft position. The Bears don’t need to tank for draft position. They are bad enough without trying to lose.

The McCaskeys aren’t going anywhere so the only hope is that they eventually get it right. Another embarrassing loss isn’t going to help or hurt there chances of doing that.

The biggest factor is Trubisky. I cannot root against this kid. He is the anti Cutler when it comes to being a possible face of the franchise going forward. I want him to show the Browns they fucked up when they took a DE over him.

The team will come out ready to play. They are pissed about the pro bowl snubs. They know what it will mean to lose to the Browns.

I don't want the Bears to go down in the annals of time as the team that kept Cleveland from being winless. Specifically, this awful of a Cleveland team. I'm a Browns supporter, so I don't want them to go winless, but I'd rather they do it next week than this one.

The staff running this team deserves to lose, and deserves that historical reminder. But the franchise doesn't deserve, and there are a handful of players that don't deserve it (note: handful).

Everyone involved in running this team should be gone. I don't know that this coming game will impact that either way. But I may be wrong - a loss to the winless Browns could be embarrassment enough. I guess we'll see...

I mean, I won't. I've watched three games this year, I think. Working all day Sunday. Happy to make the extra money...

I'm with you dline as I will be at the game with my two grandsons. It will be win all the way as Fox I'm sure is gone regardless, but in the back of my mind I know the one thing the Bears do better than anybody is to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
    Go Bears!

I get this. Though for me it's more like mainwolf says, at this point I EXPECT the Bears to lose the fucking Browns of all shitstains. They eek out a win and it's not going to thrill me, and a loss won't piss me off either.

Like the Bengals game, I personally don't care as much that the Bungles suck and have given up, I still liked seeing the Bears actually win.

Guys, a loss to the winless Browns does put us in a historic category. But you guys are delusional if you think THAT will be the straw that fires Fox midseason. We got assraped by the Packers with Brett fucking Hundley of all people, and you think that losing to the winless Browns will be the straw? No way. Fox will be the coach from here on out. This ownership only pays lip service to the notion of pride. And empty seats are what draws the line for them, nothing else.
