I know that you guys are really competitive and I totally respect that. I love how you all come back year after year (9 years already) to play, joke and enjoy. You guys are who make the contest fun, I really believe that.

I would hate for there to be any hurt feelings over this so next year I will be sure to explain the rules (as I do on my first post every year) more clearly. Adding in the SB pick option was a bit of a risk this season but I felt it would increase the stakes and suspense for everyone.

    So to be clear:

    1. The Winner of the regular season will have the highest YTD of the regular season.

    2. The Winner of the Playoffs and Super Ball will have the highest YTD for that portion of the contest. Just like every year.

If you traded some points for new SB pick(s), depending on how well your team does, you may be adding 40 points to your YTD for the Playoffs and Super Bowl.

    I must really be dense.

If everyone's YTD gets zeroed out at the end of the regular season, then where is the risk/reward for buying a new SB pick?

Thanks for your input SoCalSaint. As I stated in my question to Babyfan. I haven't figured out this Forum/Format just yet! Up until this year Babyfan would acknowledge your picks with a post. Thanks to you. I now know to see if I get a "Like" after posting my picks.

I had my notes with my picks, and was looking at a 14 - 2 week. I am looking at a post just above my new post. Babyfan states... and I concur! "And let's try and keep in mind that this contest is for fun, and not for serious"

In all the years I have been playing this game... I haven't lost a penny! And I still have my one shirt. (L4 4SN) When I wear it, no one know what the Live 4 spots Network stands for. And you have three?

Good luck to you this year. Up until Sun. I thought your Org. picks. Packers vs Patriots was going to be the Super Bowl teams!

    Again, Thanks,
    CBBLUE

My original picks were the Raiders/Packers. I still believe that the Raiders should have gone to the AFCCG last year but the QB goes and breaks his leg. I thought they had a real shot this year. And the Packers ?? More broken bones.

Babyfan, I have nothing to do. So I have been scanning old posts. Sorry your sick with the (double P). And to think, me complaining about a petty little thing that I wasn't going to win anyway!

Note:) Our local (UAW -218) was on strike against Bell Helicopter Inc, It was a rainy day on one of my three hour tour. The plant parking lot was on a gravel road, and not being allowed on Company property. I had to walk the road side. Some drivers would hit the pot holes and spray me, and others with muddy water. Thank God I wasn't sick with the double P! And yes. You are tough!

Been there done that. Hope I cheered you up just a little!

What a terrible way to be treated CBBLUE! It's really hard to understand why certain people act the way they do.

Thank you for being a part of this crazy contest... LOL

Ahhhh. Walking a UAW picket line. Been there, done that !! The nice thing about the UAW is that you get a little money from them when you go on strike.

It really comes down to personal strategy.

If you think you can still win the regular season then you may not want to risk shaking things up by changing your Super bowl pick to get an edge in the post-season.

If you choose not to change your pick and roll with your originals, then you may not have as good of a chance at having the most points in the post-season pickems.

For the players that had a rough start to the regular season, they can try and get a chance at getting a leg up on the competition in the post-season by making a change to their pick.

This is the first year at doing it this way so with a minor tweak next season (something like making week 10 the cut-off for making the change) it will make it more interesting to see who wants to make the exchange.

Seems like we had a lot of confusion. It didn't make as much sense to change things just for a post season. I sure thought we had an overall contest this season making it a strategy to win the post season portion big and try to win the overall. I was about 15 back from the leader board when I changed my NFC pick. If you pick a SB winner at the beginning of the season, that is a lot more special than picking winners every week as the season goes by.You can account for injuries and just poor play by picking against that team the next week, you can't go back to week 1 and pick a SB winner before any games are played again. It is more interesting to make the change for an overall championship possibility than just the post season.

    Then it's confirmed . . . I am dense.

I don't recall having separate regular season and post season winners in the past. To me . . . it's much more significant ending up with the highest YTD score after picking from 32 teams over 17 weeks than picking from 12 teams over 4 weeks.

We've always had a separate post-season. Baby added the Super bowl pick and the chance to change it just to make it a little more interesting.
