I meant to reply to rediis, doesn't matter what bob does to cutter, nothing could be worse than bashing chelios for him.

when you have more pen minutes than games played x 2,3,4 it is not a good thing. this was why I wasn't unhappy when dorsett left.

Flyers won 5 straight now... do you like them now, Catfish? Are you back on the bandwagon?

Do you really need to poke me and ask me that question ? No, I am not back on the bandwagon. 5 games on a losing team is nothing. they have the 6th least points in the league. they need a lot more WINS to be respectable. 5 isn't it.

They are scoring. That's been their biggest issue so far. They are on a decent roll and may surprise you... we will see.

...and by the way, Cat. The Flyers are only 2 points out of a playoff spot. You should be thrilled!

in April - hell yes Will, not in December. Playoff talk now is not needed and silly. Way too early for that. Hell, the NFL playoff are in 4 weeks and it's too early to talk about those playoffs. hahahaa

their issues to me...no scoring past line 1. skillset of their rookies. goaltending. defense.

I disagree. The Playoff chase in this days NHL is an ongoing thing and can be won or lost right here right now. In this day and age, any given game in the playoff hunt is critical... just my opinion tho.

What gives credence to Cat's stance is that recent win was over the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres are stellar at making teams look like world-beaters.

Otherwise, I think Will makes a very valid point and that Cat is being a tad harsh on the hockey team from Philadelphia.

Hi, Dan... hope all is well with you.

Even though the Flyers beat a struggling Sabres club they still did what they had to do and that's win a game against an NHL caliber team who fought tooth and nail. It was a close game. I think and its just speculative, but if Buffalo were to catch Philly during their 10 game debacle, the Sabres would have pasted them.

Anyway, bottom line is I think all games are equally important and crucial and I love razing the Catfish, lol.

Harsh is their place in the standings. I don't know how 5 straight wins is so great, when the team is near the bottom of the league standings and their cross-state rival has won back to back Stanley Cups. For those keeping score at home, it's Pens 5 and Flyers 2 in Stanley Cups now. They won what 10 or 11 in a row last year and still didn't make the playoffs, which set a record. What's so damn exciting about 5 wins to be excited about? They need 10-15 wins to get back in the thick of the standings and in this race. Not seeing it happening this year - again fellas. I am calling the team for what they are - not that great. No need to be happy about being 2 pts out of the playoffs when it's mid-December. This is a team and product I should be happy about ? Really? To accept mediocrity and losing? To accept a coach who seems overmatched. To accept a GM who plays the Andy Reid robotic press conference game and traded a key offensive cog away for a 4th line player and draft picks, blew their available FA money this summer on crap and has no incentive to move overpaid players or players to get better. No idea why is that acceptable nor why Will and Dan see a light in the tunnel? They must have better vision than me bc I was so happy to see the youth movement in October, when they were scoring also, and now I see the writing on the wall and the skillset just not there to compete with the elite of the league. As a diehard fan, that sucks to see that revelation in December with 4 and a half months left in the season.

And Dan, Jack Eichel got unlucky with that pass to a wide-open goal late in the game. it went off his skate. anywhere near his stick and it's a tie game. goalie was out of place and Eichel was all alone. Bummer. Eichel is fun to watch. However, Kane is a little punk and Wayne SImmonds should've beat his face in for his crap last night.

Depends on which Kane you're referring to when you call him "little". Evander is probably the most highly coveted trade target because of many reasons fans do not like him. He is 1) fast, 2) very physical, and 3) (and this is true) very hard working and highly regarded in the locker room. Speed, punch, and chemistry are perfect ingredients for postseason success.

Word is the price for Kane is a 1st, a close-to-NHL-ready prospect, and then something else. At that price - even with up to 50% salary retention by the Pegulas - his trade is more likely to be in late Feb. than any day soon. A lot of people, myself included, would prefer that Buffalo resigns him. I just do not see that happening so trading him is a must do for GM Bot.
