skinny-got the 6 dvd set of HOCKEY last night FedEx from Canada. None of my shows are on tonight, so I will start watching it. I'm pumped. Thanks again.

skinny-watch the first 3 episodes last night. wow. fantastic film work and vintage photos and footage. Cyclone Taylor was the first sports free agent ! He knew what greed was before Gordon Gekko did. really great stuff so far. to me this goes 1 step deeper than the fantastic Ken Burns BASEBALL set because it delves deeper into the root of the game, the owners, the beginnings of the game and the different leagues and owners trying to stop players etc. BASEBALL was all about the game's greatest players and rightfully so. This set so far shows the origins of hockey! I love it. Thanks again!

watched 3 more episodes last night. awesome. my 1 complaint ... some parts are very short and not long enough. the segment on Howie Morenz's death was really quick and the rise of the Maple Leafs. They had 2 segments on women last night. it's like hey it's 1960's and you already talked about a women's league, you don't need to mention it again.

the plane crash being found years later on that Leafs star who scored in game 7 OT to win the Cup was crazy. It was found 10 yrs later and 60 miles off course. Sad. Then Tim Horton died in a car crash! Jeez. Talk about a bad omen!

 

I watched the first two episodes, I'll watch the rest, it's all on youtube.

even when they talked about Cyclone Taylor, they showed very little about Joe Malone. I just wanted to see more about him. The stuff on Taylor was fantastic, but they left me hanging on Malone. I feel many parts are like that. I just want more than what they offer. at 43 min a dvd, I wish they were longer !! haha.

 

It's a Canadian production, temper expectations.

 

the best is in the early days they called and labeled the modern day penalty box - PRISON ! It's on disc 2 or 3. haha.

skinny-finish the dvd set. bummed they didn't even mentioned the 1980 USA Miracle on Ice at all and basically said the 80's were all about Gretzky and didn't even mention the 4 Islanders Cups. And they kept going back to woman. over and over again. 60's, 70's and 80's. way too much! solid overall. I am passing it along to my brother in law. thanks again.

COLD TEMPS came in. in my car was 21 degrees. too cold for this catfish. calling for snow on sunday. I don't care. I'm off of work on winter break vacation from 12/15-1/3 ! I'm sleeping in and not doing anything !

Weak. I shovelled the snow yesterday yesterday in flip-flops, shorts and an open jacket over a tshirt.
