Probably will depend a lot on the new coach and front office. Hard to imagine the relationship between player and team wasn't damaged by the benching at 210 consecutive starts - for Geno Smith, no less. If Tom Coughlin wants Eli to come to sunny Florida and play for a team boasting an elite defense and running game... wouldn't the player jump at that chance? Prudent move for New York is to hold on to him and trade him to someone else. Or worst case, act as a bridge QB for whomever they draft at No. 2 overall.

How gross is this? Mayfield has only lost five games in three years at Oklahoma - three on neutral sites and two at home (OSU last season and Iowa State this season). In his five losses at OU, his line: 111 of 167 (66.5%), 1,377 yards, 8 TD (4.8%), 4 INT (2.4%), 146.7 QB rating His numbers are better almost entirely than Rosen's career numbers. Mayfield has never lost on the road (non-neutral site) in his Oklahoma career and only lost one game on the road (non-neutral site) in his entire NCAA career (@Texas).

I'm not comparing them in college....no doubt Mayfield won more games w a better supporting cast, but they both have 1 or 2 games left in their college career and then its w the big boys(projection matters)...Mayfield will have a chance to prove a lot of doubters wrong vs a Georgia and Clem/Bama in the same mold as Watson

Yeah, Oklahoma runs a variant of the air raid - but Mayfield plays from the pocket, makes line calls, reads progressions, and delivers the ball accurately and timely to all levels of the field. I know you’re a little... err... “football deficient”, but Mayfield is a gifted player who happens to play in a QB-friendly system. Goff played in a more simplified version, was the number one pick, and despite you saying he wasn’t a franchise QB at the time, you’ve revised your history and said he’d be “your guy”. Not sure I get your point. Although not entirely sure you had one other than just an anti-Mayfield stance.
Timmy Chang > The WORLD! "System QBs", ok, but you cant compare Tebow does not even come close to a comparison for Mayfield. Tebow had worse mechanics than my 13 yr old and was just a FB that could kinda get the ball to the guys that were just flat out faster than everyone else and wide open. Tebow should go to all of his coaches that he has ever had and slap them for just using his combination of size and athleticism just to win.
