This is so Bears. They’re on the road, 6.5 dogs and they play like they’re playoff bound. Still doesn’t give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I’m only thrilled for the kids to get a taste of dominating an opponent with a lead throughout. I still say, this won’t change the fact that Fox will be gone come black Monday.
Our board is slow so I read another board from time to time....and just wow. The stupidity flows hard. Threads on Frodo being a good OC, rooting for the Bears to lose for draft position, you name it. Fox is gone, the org just doesn't want to do it mid season. They still aren't making the playoffs, you think a heroic effort even these last 3 games will mean anything to the fans? The McCaskey's are feeling it in the pocket book. Pace will get a shot to pick his HC this time around. For this game, I think BWW was on it, the Bungles are that bad. But I liked: 1) Mitch going through his progressions seemingly, still protecting the ball. Not a perfect game but improvement for sure. 2) Shaheen showing up! Nice to see him see the field and show some catching ability, though Quinn pointed out his blocking still needs work. 3) The run game showed life - we have two very good backs that complement each other. I love Howard but his hands suck, I never want to see him catching a pass again. 4) The D forcing turnovers. Particularly Jackson on the sideline-- not only did he knock it loose and recover, but he argued right away that he should have the TO.
Fox is gone... The Bengals probably gave less shits about this game than I did. Talk about mailing it in. AJ Green pulled a Cutler today. With that, next week we'll get the Lions who have a legit playoff shot and will give a shit... One last point, FUCK YOU JOHN FOX. Today's offensive play-calling is what we've been asking for for 3 years now. WTF???? Why does he take the restricter plate off Loggains today???? FUCK YOU JOHN FOX.
Did you see the one pick on a ball to him? He just fucking stood there and made zero effort on the ball carrier.
There is talk that we should trade for him this offseason. He has 2 years left on his contract, but there is an out after 2018. So, we probably don't have to give up a lot to get him, but and can dump him if needed after 1 year. He'd cost us 13 million and whatever we have to give up (likely a 2nd rounder?)
In a millisecond I trade a second round pick, and throw in a current rostered asswipe, for AJ Green. Hes an Ultra stud receiver with jack fuck around him for years - and still put up massive numbers. It will take more than that to get AJ Green though. He’s a much faster version of Alshon Jeffrey and he’s not a pussy. Very interesting proposition. I could see him wanting out of Cincy - he knows Dalton is good on his best day, and fucking atrocious on his worst. His median is generally sub-par. I could see him wanting to come to Chicago, provided they jettison the current coaching staff back into the Pleistocene.
His issue is he has seemed to quit. Still putting up numbers, but man o man did he half-ass it last week. And teams generally don't pay up for quitters. They initially get them at a discount. Refer to: Alshon Jeffery
And I hope that’s the general sentiment amongst anyone that is interested. My point is that he could’ve “quit” a looooong time ago. A long time ago. This cat has put up massive numbers with crap around him and hasn’t said shit. If one game makes him a quitter and reduces his value, I’ll take him for a second rounder right now. And, just for clarity, in my opinion, Alshon Jeffrey couldn’t deliver the detergent that held the wash bin that contained AJ Green’s jock. AJ Green is ELITE. Alshon is .. well... Alshon.
I would call the Giants and see what they want for OBJ. I know he has been a bit of a malcontent but he is Young tried to play through injury before he went down for good.
