Where Do We Go From Here?

  1. Garrett 17 total tackles 5 sacks....yep generational :OK:

  2. He looks the same? How do you know...practice reports? LOL...We heard the same thing last time he came back....24 rec 303 yds 0TDS(5 games) and 5!% catch rate(that's for SAS)

  3. ya ya ya.....Courtney Brown was 6'4 285-290 lbs and ran 4.5....how did he work out? Julio Jones 6'3 220 lbs and ran 4.39 I guess he doesn't come close? You make some dumb statements smh

I agree with all of this. I just wonder who's been saying Watt was great based on his occasional splash play. I'm greatly encouraged by those but I'm well aware of how the Steelers defense works and how it limits Watt's chances to make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Watt is playing the same position James Harrison used to play, and he is nowhere near where Harrison was in his prime at this point. The star of the defense right now is Cameron Heyward.

I was actually referring to this stat from PFF:

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-32-nfl-observations-week-10

Now we're two weeks later, granted, but the Steelers run defense has remained stalwart versus the Titans and Packers so I can't imagine this has gotten any worse.

Watt is no Pro Bowler at this point and certainly no All-Pro - he's not even on Myles Garrett's level, and to argue otherwise would be to infer total ignorance of the game at best and stupid homerism at worst. Garrett has done more with less to this point than Watt has and has both more raw talent and more polish. You illustrated for me, also, that Watt rushes the passer at a lesser rate than almost every other edge rusher in the NFL, which I'm sure is a big part of how PFF grades edge rushers. It's disappointing that he has such a low tackle total but I'm pretty sure his influence on the field in taking on blockers makes a significant difference.

Well this is going to go over like a lead balloon but...

Why can't Josh Gordon just be a 6'3", 224lb receiver that ran a 4.52 at his pro day, has a 35" vertical and is very talented?

Bah freaking humbug Scrooge McDuck...You realize we are in the midst of a 0-11 season...right? What in the hell is wrong with getting a little optimism going for a returning guy who has shown in the past that he can be one of the best in the league?

I erased the rest of this statement out of courtesy to the rest of the posters reading......That above pretty much nails how I feel about your attitude.

If it makes any difference, I immediately grabbed Josh Gordon for my fantasy team.

I did too. Wasn't planning to use him this early, but then Crabtree got himself suspended... So here we go.

You should be optimistic. The guy is a stud. But to say the only WR in the NFL to come close to his level of talent is Calvin Johnson is just goofy. He had one big season and it was punctuated by a team that was often playing from behind and throwing it all over the field in the 4th quarter. Let's see what kind of guy he can be going forward before we start talking Calvin Johnson.

The most impressive thing about Gordon's successful season is that he put up those numbers with Brian Hoyer, Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell throwing it.

  12. TD, their all better than Kizer IMO...Weeden put the ball on the $ on some of those throws

lol! Yeah too bad "some" of Weeden's other throws didn't work out so well...

If you are looking for me to pick up the Kizer argument, don't waste your time. I was just referencing Gordon's All Pro season...Though I do believe Kizer has the kind of arm that can be very dangerous with a receiver like Josh Gordon. One thing Kizer can do, is air it out. I won't be shocked if he has some success with Gordon and Coleman because getting vertical is what they do best. It really should help open up things for Johnson and Njoku, but we'll see if the O-line can hold. That's obviously the key against the Chargers...

I had the same feeling watching A&M beat Alabama...I swear if he wasn't such a head case, our problems wouldn't even be problems right now...

And no...this was not a Mayfield is Manziel reference...

His immaturity might push him down the draft board enough that he could be had in the second round. That would probably be the best case for the Browns. Use our first two picks on other premium players, and then snag Baker Mayfield at the top of the second round. If only it were that simple...

Name another WR with the same size/speed and leaping ability besides Johnson that we can use as a comp. I’ll wait.

  20. I already did....Julio Jones
