    Don't waste your time, Sammy.

TD's right again and we're just a bunch of dummies.

    IMO - Baker Mayfield.

But I wouldn't select him if we just signed Cousins...At least not at the top of the draft.

    Jesus!

With Collins out for the rest of the year, if Gordon can't run routes we can give him a try at strong-side linebacker.

  5. Exactly so my point was if you pay him 4 yrs $80M hes your guy...why are you drafting a QB in the 1st 2 rounds...makes no sense

It's an extremely rare situation. How many times has a potential franchise QB hit the free agent market? Peyton Manning and Drew Brees? And in both of those cases, they were coming off of career-threatening injuries.

For that fact alone, I agree with Eyedee that Washington re-signs him before it gets to that point.

In almost every other "potential franchise QB" exchange, it revolved around draft picks - Jay Cutler, Carson Palmer, Matt Schaub, Brett Favre.

Why would Belichick draft Garappolo in the 2nd when he's sitting on Tom Brady?

    Ya, that makes no sense.

lol! Well, I can only assume if you've decided to go all in and make Cousins the highest paid player, you must believe he is a proven commodity...You don't throw that kind of green at someone you're not sure about...

    Albert Haynesworth.

  10. I believe Brady was coming off ACL surgery and they were planning ahead...fast forward 4 yrs later and he is still playing at a high level so Garropolo is gone after hardly playing...waste of a pick

Pretty simple. Because of Brady's age...At some point, he will slow down. They drafted Garoppolo when Brady was 37....

When the Redskins signed him, he was an All Pro....Like many, he took the money and got fat, but you can't say he wasn't a proven NFL commodity when Washington made that ill advised signing...

  14. He probably wont play anyway...hurt again

He was playing for a contract. Became an All Pro in a contract year and was franchise tagged. Repeated that success. Got paid. Gave up.

Cousins was due to become a free agent after 2015. He completed 69.8 percent of his passes, threw for over 4,900 yards, and threw 29 TDs to 11 INTs. He got tagged. Repeated that success. Got tagged again.

Prior to Cousins' breakout season (pending free agency), he completed 59.0 percent of his passes, threw 18 TDs (4.4%) against 19 INTs (4.7%), and posted a QB rating of 77.5. Since? 67.9 percent completion, 68 TDs (4.7%) against 28 INTs (1.9%), and boasts a 99.1 QB rating.

What a whiney little bitch. Kiss my ass. I'm not the one that suggested this hypothetical that would never happen...I just gave reasons why it's illogical. Hopefully that word won't offend...

I guess I just don't have the temperment for this today. If you knew "Brock Oz money" would never get it done (like everyone else did) why include his name in the question to begin with? It was confusing.... Cousins is in line for upwards of $25m per season. Nobody would ever sign him for that, and then a few weeks later, draft a "franchise QB" in the top 5 picks....It makes NO sense.

I've gotta agree with the masses here Lyman.

I get what you are saying. Double down. No matter what, make sure you have the QB taken care of so there are no more excuses.

However, that's not how it works. Drafting two QBs in the same draft...on early and one in the mid rounds...is a bit different than giving one guy $125M and then immediately drafting his heir apparent a month later in the top 10! If you want to spend a late 2nd or 3rd round pick on a talented, developmental QB to be Cousins' backup like the Patriots have often done with Brady, then so be it. That can be justified. If, however, you are spending that kind of money on a player the caliber of Cousins...and to be clear, I think he's the best free agent QB in years...then you use your plethora of high draft picks to give him the weapons to be successful.

Hey, what if we sign Cousins to mega deal AND spend all 5 of our premium draft picks on quarterbacks?

I mean, we are all sick and tired of our QB situation...
