Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette grew up in Louisiana, stayed there to go to LSU and then landed in Jacksonville, so he doesn’t have much experience with playing in cold weather. He’s set for a taste of it in Cleveland this weekend. The forecast calls for a temperature in the 30s with a chance of snow showers and Fournette’s head is not filled with dreams of frolicking in a winter wonderland. “I hate the cold period,” Fournette said, via the Florida Times-Union. “I sleep in the heat. That’s just how I grew up. Mentally I’m just trying to get my mind ready — that’s all. … That’s not really my thing. Mentally, I’m trying to get my mind ready. It’s the little things, you take a little hit and it hurts. I wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t cold.” The cold isn’t the only problem Fournette is dealing with this week. The ankle injury that forced him to miss a game a few weeks ago is still an issue and Fournette is not practicing on Friday after limited sessions earlier this week. There’s been no indication that he’s at risk of missing the game, but the injury, the weather and a solid Browns run defense could combine to make for a tough Sunday. Glad we didn't draft this sissy boy ..light his ass up first carry . news flash 30 isn't that cold .
I was 15 at the time and was at the Browns , Bills game . Most fans were pissed at the team for trading Paul Warfield to the Fins to draft Phipps . he had his ups & downs but couldn't catch a break from the media or fan base .
As the Cleveland Browns take on the Jacksonville Jaguars today in Cleveland, the Jaguars owner Shad Khan visits an area that his business has had an impact on. (Hat tip to my Aunt who contacted me regarding this because some family members, including my father, work for some of the Khan businesses.) Sandusky, OH, the hometown of Jon Gruden, Orlando Pace and this writer, has long been connected to the auto industry. While most now think of Sandusky as the home of Cedar Point, factory work and the shipping lane between Cleveland and Toledo long stabilized the economy of the city. Growing up, we drove past the "GM plant" daily going to school, the store and on the way to most of the downtown tourist areas. Like much of the "Rust Belt," Sandusky's economy has had it's struggles including the big factories that were mainstays in the community. This is where Khan's company Flex-N-Gate comes in. According to a Cleveland.com report, the factory that I knew of as the "GM plant" was expected to be closed by 2008 after being taken over by Ford in 2005. The report shows the creativity of the Sandusky labor union to do whatever it took to keep the plant open and people employed. While the costs that were "cut" were likely to be employees, the factory stayed open because of it. Ford continued to look for a buyer which is where Khan's Flex-N-Gate came in back in 2012: "We are thrilled to team up with Sandusky lighting's people, capabilities and leading-edge product technologies," Flex-N-Gate Chief Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Shahid Khan said in a written statement. "This also provides us with terrific opportunities to continue our successful growth with Ford, our employees and local Ohio and Michigan communities." A quick look oatthe company's website shows the factory is still up and running, with one job currently available if you are looking for a Skilled Trades job. While Khan comes to Northern Ohio as the owner of the enemy, for some in Northern Ohio his company gave them a sense of stability that had been missing. Did you know the Jags owner had business interest in Northern Ohio too? Author Jared Mueller @TheOBR
Okay we get win # 1 today . no I haven't been drinking .. at least not yet . but of course the Browns do tend to make a person grab something to ease the pain . its a wonder I have a liver left . Browns - 24 Jags who have been running there collective mouths all week long - 21
Onside early from Jacksonville. This team has zero respect for Jackson and the Browns. This one could get out of hand.
Offense from the HC / OC to the guy who cleans the crapper out needs the boot ! Louis needs CUT last week cant catch shit . Kiser took three steps back today . no running game dropped passes hasn't helped him . Jags D is pretty good .
At least they haven't quit and no penalties today ???? a very winnable game lost by the offense or lack of .
Game on the line, in striking distance: 1- flutter pass, no spiral, incomplete 2- throw low and behind intended receiver, incomplete 3- sack/fumble, play under review
Browns move to 0-10. Adequate QB play would have this team at 5-5 at worst. Kizer single-handed my cost them games against: Baltimore, Indianapolis, New York, Tennessee, and Jacksonville.
