I like being able to see routes develop. Watching football where all you see is the passrush is dumb. When the QB throws the ball it's almost a surprise for us as to what is going to happen. We miss the routes and DB/WR battles. It's what I'd rather see than a dude standing in a pocket.
Wonder how many Dan could throw in the first 9 games in todays NFL. Granted he wasn't int he 70s were you could ride on the WRs back but the rules today are geared more toward the offense than they were in Dan's playing days. YOu look at the 27 and think wow but that wasnt even the best part of his season. He finished the season with 16 touchdowns in his last 4 games throwing 4 TDs in each game
Cardinals nearing an extension with Larry Fitzgerald for 1 year. He is playing well and Carson Palmer was playing well before his injury so they essentially both essentially agreed they can give it one more crack together. I felt this was likely going to happen. It was actually my move in our GM Office exercise in the offseason (although I did it to save cap, I did it for a realistic reason).
Can't say I agree. Yeah, I like seeing what WRs are doing. I like seeing what ALL players are doing. But the overall watching experience (from a fan's perspective) is to follow the ball. Seeing WRs run routes while the QBs hands the ball off on a delayed draw does nothing for me. It's like watching infielders shift while not being able to see the pitcher-batter interplay.
WR's... Antonio Brown is quickest receiver to 700 catches... Cardinals announce one-year extension for Larry Fitzgerald...
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...or-50-million-is-slap-in-the-face-to-players/ Roger Goodell wants to be paid $50 million dollars and free benefits for life!! It must be April Fools Day or Christmas comes early. Gadzooks man, that's a lot of loot. Jeez.
Might as well ask... its the owners who ultimately have to make the decision. For some reason beyond the realm of my reasoning, they like that Goodell d0od.
Blaine Gabbert to start for the Cardinals in their game vs the Texans http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...bert-will-start-at-qb-for-cardinals-vs-texans
Pretty sure he was with the Cardinals all season. Last year he was starting for the 49ers. Pretty sure the niners have only started Hoyer and Beathard so far this year
Seattle Seahawks... The Seahawks are bracing for another big loss in their secondary. Having lost cornerback Richard Sherman for the season to a torn Achilles tendon, Seattle is now expecting to play the rest of the year without strong safety Kam Chancellor as well. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network is reporting that Chancellor has been to multiple doctors for an examination of the neck injury he suffered last week against the Cardinals, and the news hasn’t been good: He is likely to miss the rest of the season.
