Kizer still looks competent today. We look like an NFL team today, not a pee wee team

    The Good:

We looked like an NFL team yesterday. Both sides of the ball had good moments and bad moments...for the first time this season, the offense looked better than the defense overall.

    The Bad:

FREAKING PENALTIES! This aspect continues to haunt us. Here come more excuses, so those who don't like to read them may want to turn their eyes elsewhere. This is the ultimate mark of a young team...this is something that can and will improve with experience. If this were the least of our problems I wouldn't be worrying much. The other aspect, turnovers..reared it's ugly head again yesterday, another look of a young team. DeValve must protect the ball. There were way too many defenders around him to have that ball swinging in the wind away from his body. At that point, he already had the first down, everything else was icing. The INT, to me, seemed to land squarely on Kizer's shoulders. The way the defense was setup, I think Lewis read it correctly and peeled off the fade. Kizer never saw the safety over the top and went with the pre-snap read...Easy pick. He has to learn from that.

As soon as Kizer went out of the game, the offense fell apart...didn't think we would say that all year. For two drives they were inept beyond belief. The only good news to come out of that is, maybe Kizer and the offense are finally starting to gel... Britt did say, "come November, this offense will be scary good". Maybe he knew all along how long it takes for a brand new young offense to start coming together...maybe that also explains why he took off the first half of the season waiting for that moment...

    The Ugly:

0-9, really this is the ugliest thing I have to say this week.

    GBU - Week 10 Edition

    Good

    An actual running game
. The Browns had their best day on the ground all season and also played their second-best game of the year (Week 1, Pittsburgh). The Browns got 202 yards on 33 carries (6.1 YPC). DeShone Kizer as a wildcat running back had a great game with his legs.

Duke Johnson Jr. Stop me if you've heard this... the best player on the offensive side of the football was perfect as a receiver (caught six of six targets) and added another 54 yards on the ground on 10 carries (5.4 YPC). And predictably, once the game was on the line in the last quarter, Johnson got one look.

    Bad

    Hue Jackson
. Rather than try to win the game, Hue Jackson turned into his typical self and freaked out with the game on the line. When the starter goes down with injury and there's a whole quarter with the game tied, Hue Jackson tried to run the ball once. Once. With a quarterback he hates he dialed up six pass plays and one run play.

    Excuses.
    • "This is a young team." The Rams are the second-youngest team in the League and they're 7-2.

    • "The talent isn't there." Our opponent this Sunday would disagree.

    • "Our receivers are garbage." Starting WR and TE numbers; 15 targets, 12 receptions, 180 yards, 1 TD. Add in Duke and Crow - 23 targets, 19 reception, 219 yards.

    Ugly

    DeShone Kizer
. Hey, it's not in the "Shizer" category this week, so that's got to be progress, right? Kizer played his second-best game of the season but that is a pathetic thing to say for Week 10. He still is atrocious as a thrower and his game really stood out this week because of his role as a running back. The mind-numbing audible on the two-yard line with time expiring really underscores how lost he is as an NFL quarterback. Position change for 2018, maybe?

History. It's been 701 days since the Browns have won on a Sunday.

    Shizer

    The defense
. This was a Lions team that wasn't running the football and a Browns team that was one of the best in the League at stopping the run. Once Jamie Collins was out due to injury, the Lions gashed the defense for big gain after big gain on the ground. Lions finished with 104 yards on 19 carries (5.5 YPC). Stafford's an elite QB and he's going to get his yards/touchdowns... I don't fault the defense for not stopping him... but Ameer Abdullah and and Theo Riddick?!

Browns fans: OUR RECEIVERS ARE TRASH!!! THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP OUT OUR ROOKIE QUARTERBACK!!! MAKE A FREAKING PLAY!!!!!!!!!!

Also Browns fans: DeValve really needs to go down after the first down there. Don't try to make a play. Jeeze.

You know what Sam, I understand we are disagreeing this year, and all you want to do is push my buttons, well you pushed it...

FUCK OFF!! How's that for the reaction you are looking for?

Tim ban me, do what ever is needed, I really don't care anymore.. On a day where there was actually positives, this ass hat just wants to come on here and take jabs at ME...

I have hit the "ignore" button on one of my Browns fans, which I didn't think I would ever do...but if you need to ban me? Go ahead... The frustration isn't worth it any more.

    Uh-oh... looks like it's #BanTime!

To be clear... I'm not trying to push any buttons. I'm just keeping perspective. People get on here and kill our receivers for not making plays, for not being open, for not helping out a rookie QB. The minute a guy does that and tries to make a play - and it backfires - it's he screwed up and he cost us the win. Really?

You have always been pretty disrespectful towards me - constantly challenging my intelligence but I still (if I have a say @Tim ) don't want to see you banned over losing your temper, FWIW.

Although if you've already hit the ignore button on me, there's a chance you won't see this anyway.

  12. It looked like Britt caught a 5 yd hitch route, broke a tackle and scored a TD....thats the 1st TD pass since week 3 so if he doesnt do that, we may still be talking bout no TD passes since week 3...let that settle in

  13. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

Friendly reminder... those happened in garbage time after the Colts had already put up 28 points and were happy to concede small gains and a few points.

Prior to Week 10, the last meaningful TD pass he threw was Week 1 against Pittsburgh... with 3:36 remaining in the game.

  14. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

    Good

The 49ers won a game... Browns have the inside track to No. 1 overall.

The Texans lost in miserable fashion to the Rams (33-7) and look to only have maybe one winnable game left. Browns could very well be looking at No. 1 overall and No. 4 or 5 overall.

  15. Whether it was week 1 or week 3 thats a pathetic showing for an offense....I guess its not all their fault cause I saw their HC/OC call a fake reverse pass down 14 pts w 1:38 secs left in the game...wow is that guy a serious bum smh

No one is getting banned today.

Tempers are hot after a rough Sunday. I’m on my phone so I can’t type up an eloquent and inspirational speech.

    Anyone want to take this?

    Stopper?

Good: We "can" run the ball. Britt "can" catch the ball.
    Bad: Collins out.......... Crap!
Ugly: 15 seconds goal to go, and we get one play. Words cannot describe how Galactically Idiotic that was. Can't blame the officials. Could have attempted 2 passes, before a FG attempt, if we had a clue. I just wish we'd stop proving we don't.

All told I thought it was a show of progress. Kizer looked better, we did indeed run the ball well. The D looked truly dominant until Collins was wiped out. That is a "real problem". The O is showing signs of having met each other before game time, and one hopes that builds and grows. Colemen coming back has to be good news too.

Generally I am encouraged, but if Collins was the glue that held the D together, we someone to step up, and assume that mantle, or an improved O will go unrewarded.

I wonder how the players feel about the game they just played.
