Question was posed on 92.3 the Fan in Cleveland this morning... If available, how much would you trade for Andrew Luck? Currently, most folks are saying #1 and #5 overall in 2018 and Browns first pick in 2019. That price tag is astronomical and I would literally rage quit this team on the spot if it happened, but it is worth discussing the price. So, if available, what price tag would you put on Luck and be willing to give up for him?
Hue is the worst coach in Browns history if he goes 1-31..why does he get more leash than the others....hell even Pat Shurmur was better record wise....he needs to go asap

lol! Actually that's not true at all. I'm one of the more optimistic Browns fans...Maybe Hue Jackson just sucks, and I know a toxic situation when I see it. You only reading what you want to read, and you seem to be missing everything else. I mentioned if we were "Chudzinski's Browns" level, I'd be okay with another year. (that's like 2 wins, in case you are wondering)...And I mentioned if we see improvement in the 2nd half, hopefully we won't have to go through another reset... What if we regress further? What if we actually get worse in 2017? We've seen teams quit before... We'll see how gung-ho you are about keeping everything in tact if we look like shit the rest of this season and match the all time losing record...
Without knowing the extent of damage to his shoulder, I don't know what price I would pay (or not pay).
This is actually a very good point. There are about 50 guys out there right now that think they are the next Sean McVay and those picks would be a carrot the size of the Eiffel Tower.
If the Browns have any shot at Luck. Do it! How many franchise passers will the analytic front office pass on. This is not baseball.
I don't see any indication that this regime is incapable of picking qualified players... I certainly don't know that replacing them will give us better results in drafted players. What you are talking about is an inability to train said players, a coaching issue, and if that is the case they need to hire new coaches. I know there is a lot of scrutiny about the front office and how they do their business. Personally, I see it a totally different way, but that is my issue. Here is how I see this front office. I can't go off their track record for "missing" on drafted players. I have a realistic expectation that a player development takes 2+ years and none of their picks have reached a 2 year threshold yet. Even in the premature stages though, their picks seem to be performing at a pro level, based on where they were drafted. Injuries aside, this roster has better young players on it, than in years past (using "football guys" to do the picking). Now, many want to FAULT them for missing on players that have succeeded, however, the same players you want to blame them for were not being lauded as must get players at the time of the draft, why(?), because they were no where near can't miss prospects. We didn't have them ranked that highly, the media didn't have them ranked that highly and "un-named sources (namely supposed scouts and GMs in the league) didn't have them ranked that highly. It only takes one team to take a chance, and I get that the Eagles and Texans were two teams willing to take a chance and they won...however, the odds, numbers and history CERTAINLY show that more times than not, those chances turn into major busts. So, you have as situation with a franchise that had an ultimate goal of building a successful roster from scratch, were told to do so in 3-5 years. Now losing is going to be a MAJOR part of tearing a roster down to the foundation, including foundational pieces. You can't compete in a professional league realistically without veteran players. NFL fans, especially Browns fans, are not patient enough to build a roster this way...this isn't baseball where you can have 3 losing seasons, where you go 50-112, which is equivalent to going 1-15 in the NFL...Baseball, you can stick a minor league team in there and they will win 45-50 games...JUST enough to have a fan base that will wait out a process for a few years. In the NFL, if you aren't winning 8 games, you need to be replaced, it's the mentality we all live with. BUT, in two short years, they have managed to put arguably a better foundation for the future together than any other management team since the return...minus the veterans. These "kids" will be the veterans starting next season, while in my hopes, they add a couple of actual veterans to stabilize the mess we have right now. Jamie Collins was such an addition on defense and I feel it helped. On offense, the only veteran leadership is in the O-line room, no other aspect of the offense has any veteran leadership at all...Isaiah Crowell is the closest thing to a veteran outside of that room and he arguably needs veteran help as much as anyone on this team. They need a veteran in the QB room, TE room and they need at least one in the wide receiver room. Kenny Britt was supposed to be that guy, but he hasn't shown leadership any where he has been in the past and he certainly hasn't shown it here. As for their top 3 rounds of each draft, I cannot fault them for any of their picks. In each draft they took highly qualified players, including a QB in each draft. I don't know what more we can ask of them, except maybe to get their sorcery license so they can look into the future to see what player will actually work out. NO ONE was as high on Carson Wentz as I was in this Browns fan forum, yet, even I didn't want him at #2 overall. I don't believe anyone was as high on Deshaun Watson as I was either, yet, I was not enamored at taking him at #12, although I did say I wouldn't balk at taking him there. NOW, everyone wants their heads for not doing it...Foresight is a grand thing when casting stones, but we should really study all the players that everyone was pining for at the time and use our judgement against them on those merits. I know I wanted to take Zeke Elliot or Joey Bosa if RB is not considered a top 5 position in 2016, so I have a gripe...how about the rest of you? This year at #12, I wanted Malik Hooker...so the jury is out...since both he and Watson are now on IR, while the front office pick of Jabrill Peppers has been hurt and obviously the 2018 first round draft choice has yet to be picked... But, I digress, Wentz would have come in and made this team a playoff team so we should hang the front office...I guess that's the long and short of it. BTW, I don't let Hue Jackson make ANY of the picks. I want Hue Jackson's input, just as much as I want the input of my scout team and other position coaches, but it isn't Hue Jackson's job to make draft picks...or trade for player's for that matter.
I will make another REALLY GOOD POINT, if you coax a guy in here and have no idea what his actual ability is in the hot seat of making said picks, he could REALLY SCREW UP this opportunity.
Are we discussing trading for Andrew Luck? Or being lucky enough to make a blind pick of a QB not knowing what his future will bring, just because it is the most important position on the field? I'm a little confused on this one if I'm being honest.
Some guys just do better as coordinators Lym. I'm not saying I know that's the case for Hue but I think it's important to remember this isn't his first chance. This is his second go around as a head coach and he had plenty of time to reflect on the previous attempt.
Well, if the Front office and scouting department was capable it would not be a blind pick. Obviously this front office has shown an inability to scout young talent at the QB position. So if you have a chance at Luck, take it.
FWIW, in regards to Hue Jackson, it's about much more than wins and losses. He's a terrible game manager. He regularly makes the wrong decisions. How much should we take? I'll be the first to admit I've lost patience with this regime, but geezus they have given me a million reasons.. Hue was brought in as the "QB Whisperer"...The so called "expert" in identifying and developing QB's....What has he accomplished? He didn't want Carson Wentz, and he didn't want Watson...He wanted Robert Griffin, and he wanted Deshon Kizer...The only good QB (McCown) we've had during his tenure, he wanted rid of....Hue has done NOTHING right. Keeping Jackson on as coach, simply because your team has a history of getting rid of coaches, is a surefire way to keep this team in the death spiral it currently resides in... Without MAJOR improvement in the second half of this season, I think changes are coming...Even with a win or two, I'm not sure Hue survives...
