Is Duchene really that much better than Turris? I also wonder how Ottawa will deal with next year being a contract year for Duchene.

 

Good points, the only argument that can be made is that duchene played for a messed up franchise.

 

Pretty cool that Ottawa and Colorado are playing each other in Sweden coming up too.

rediiis. think most fans were happy with with the trade, but it hurts to lose Sergachev, not complaining about Weber, but the youth is waning on the D-Line...

 

Ottawa has a lot of tough decisions in their near future vis-a-vis the salary cap that they rarely reach...Turris got 6 years...good for him...but Stone Hoffman, and Karlsson on the horizon...

 

Duchene has .73 ppg compared to turris .59, plus a better face-off guy. He won't be an FA until 2019. The long stretch pass from karlsson to duchene top speed will be tough to defend.

 

Turris wasn't resigning in Ottawa. It was a no-brainer.
