call marvin jones to collapse brady's lung like he did to drew bledsoe, which paved the way for Brady. circle affect all comes around.
u wanna laugh, i thought when u dog typed Mo Lewis, I HAD MARVIN LEWIS, so that's why i said i was half right. Jones/Lewis - hahhaha and gid - i still say to this day that Tom Brady is the luckiest man in the history of sports due to that hit and injury on Bledsoe. Bledsoe signed some insane contract extension, so if he was never hurt, when would Brady come to start ? Probably not their first 2 Super Bowls? Maybe not a 3rd either. Does NE even win a SB vs St.Louis or Philly with Bledsoe? Do they even get to the SB with Bledsoe? The entire landscape of 2 careers, the NFL as a league and a team-NE changed with that hit! NE fans don't wanna think about a time without Brady at the helm, but it's a great question and scenario to think about. 1 hit. 1 injury and the rest as they say is History and the HOF for Brady. At least Bledsoe got 2 SB rings out of it. And when Brady got hurt, Bledsoe came in to win vs Pitt at Pitt. Now Matty or Dan K pointed out earlier this year, Bledsoe didn't do much to win and it was on Special Teams and the Defense, but a QB can lose a game real fast-Neil O'Donnell-SB vs Dallas. Bledsoe did what he had to do to win the game. 2 weeks later, a healthy Brady wins another SB. ??
Well, we've had this discussion before. Brady was moving up the charts rapidly and would of usurp Bledsoe eventually. Maybe mot 2001(possibly though) but not long after.
Josh Gordon reinstated, eligible to play again in Week 13... Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has finally been reinstated, nearly three years after he last played in an NFL regular-season game. The league announced today that Gordon is reinstated on a conditional basis and can attend team meetings effective immediately. He’ll be eligible to start practicing with the team on November 20 and eligible to be added to the 53-man roster on November 27, which means he could play again in Week 13. It’s been a long, long road back for Gordon, one of the best receivers in the NFL. Repeated violations of the NFL’s substance-abuse policy have consistently derailed his career, and he recently acknowledged that he had abused cocaine, codeine, Xanax, marijuana and other substances. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement that the league is rooting for Gordon. “As emphasized at today’s meeting, everyone – including Josh’s teammates and coaches, the Browns’ ownership and organization, the Program professionals and all of us at the league office – want him to have every opportunity to resume his career and to be successful in the NFL,” said Goodell. “Whether that happens, however, at the end of the day will depend on Josh. His commitment to sobriety and to reaching his goals in football and beyond will determine his success. It ultimately is up to Josh.” Gordon, who had 87 catches for 1,646 yards in 14 games in 2013, is just 26 years old.
but bledsoe was under a huge contract extension. rapidly or not he wasn't the starter, bledsoe was. does NE win those same playoff games and have the same record if bledsoe never got hurt? that's the question. it's not when brady would take over - it's would NE still win without him if Bledsoe was QB and never out ? I don't just give NE the same SB wins with Bledsoe back there. Sorry but he didn't beat GB in the SB when he had the chance, so why 4 years later would it be automatic?
well i thought it was the first one when he came in to bail brady out and he stayed on for the second one? no matter, he's get 1 many QBs don't have.

To answer your question. No if Bledsoe was the starter for the full 2001 season the Pats do not win that SB. However Belichick had still not yet proven to be Yoda in a hoodie at that time and if the Pats started out with a couple more losses his job may of been creeping up on thin ice. And big contract or not he may of made the change. All speculation of course. Either way Mo Lewis has my vote for a Patriots red jacket and honerary Pats HOFer.
spress-as a big Star Wars fan, your comment is aces by me. "still not yet proven to be Yoda in a hoodie!" fantastic sir.
An d now Papa Johns sales skyrocket and everyone gets their money...Anybody else see this as a way to sell more Pizza? And he didn't have to pay for this advertising! Look, this is lose-lose. They crack down on the players, the superstars walk...drop in product=drop in fans= loss of $$$. They don't, they lose sponsors, so they lose $$$. The problem I have is the focus is on the NFL for not disciplining the players, but not on fixing the reason they are protesting. Honestly its my opinion that the league is trying to handle it in a pretty decent way. They've been having meetings between the players and owners and thats a good thing. As we saw with Houston, there have been frustrations on both sides. But there at least have been talks and maybe they work something out for some kind of awareness month or something of that nature and it satisfies the protest. Unlikely, because outside forces will complicate things and some people aren't willing to compromise.
