Well, the long and short of it is that the turnovers are costing points, which in turn are costing wins..

    offense 2017 21st
    offense 2016 30th

They are gaining more yards per game...BUT, they are turning the ball over in the Red Zone at an alarming rate. If those turnovers were points, we would more than likely be 3-4 and we wouldn't be nearly as dismal a fanbase at this point of the season. The Browns currently have a 47% TD scoring in the Red Zone, tied for 25th in the league...

Kizer starts again.... moan. But all the soft stuff aside (hurting his ego, confidence, etc...), playing time is his only hope.

"His" only hope. That's not to say he's the team's best hope, but if he's to make his bed, then let him sleep in it, until you're convinced he isn't the guy. If that isn't determined...... yet, then letting him play in London is probably better than rolling him back out there in Cleveland, where if it weren't for the contracted cameramen, the stadium would be empty, then this truly neutral site is the best possible situation.

Kessler had better be ready, cause no INT's is really unlikely, and he will be playing at some point. With Mighty Joe Thomas out, we may need more than 2 QBs to finish the game.

Gee, it would be nice to have old man McCown on the flight.

Change is coming, in one form or another. Hue is making a strong case for himself as waterboy, so he may stay on afterall.

Garrett in concusion protocol. Another bright spot. Just when I was beginning to take solace in our D being a force, that really hurts, and SAS is right, they ought to let him stay home, taking advantage of the coming Bye, to get fully healthy.

I just hate going through this again.

  4. @SAS...lets put things in perspective on how stupid these stats truly mean you post every week....lets take the OL for example and its gonna be a stretch but hopefully you get the point......Im gonna use 10 plays...Joe Thomas at LT blocks perfect for 9 of the 10 plays but that 1 play results in a blindside hit fumble recovered by the defense at the Browns 20 yd line....the opponent scores a TD on the drive....Thomas grades out at 90% but the hidden play is 7 pts for the other team....LG Bitonio is perfect on 9 of 10 plays but on 4th n inches at mid field he gets blown back from the 3 tech and its a TO on downs...the team has a short field and kicks a 52 yd FG after getting one 1st down...again he grades out at 90% but the opponent gets 3 pts...Tretter gets beat on b2b plays where the 1 tech gets penetration and throws Crowell back for a 4 yd loss resulting in 3 n 14...the next play a LB blitzes through A gap and Tretter misses him and Kizer throws a hurried ball into the flat for a pick 6...the other 8 plays Tretter was perfect and graded out at 80% but he cost his team 7 pts...again hidden play which results in pts for the opponent...final results Browns 0-7 and 1-22 under this regime

I'm not sure you truly understand perspective.. Are you suggesting these other teams that have linemen that get beat 30-40% of the are better off because the one time Thomas gets beat it led to points?

  7. No what Im saying is these #s he gives from PFF are bogus and mean nothing...can you comprehend? I was giving examples the whole time for each scenario

  8. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

Yes I comprehend, I don't believe you do...The numbers represent the overall game for the week... So, you aren't getting a % of positive plays, it's a score based on a number of different influences. As for Joe Thomas in particular..I think you are sadly mis-representing him at 9 out of ten plays he does it the right way. In any given game it is extremely rare that he falters on more than 2 plays a game.. the typical offense sees around 65 snaps a game, which puts his percentage at 97% success rate, not 90% which is a HUGE difference in the overall scheme. At your rate, he would be messing up between 6-7 times a game and that NEVER happens.

That is why I believe you are misunderstanding the numbers to begin with.

2017 Total offensive yards and Turnover Differential
    Week 1 L 21-18 Browns 237 Steelers 290, 0 T/O differential (Kizer)

    Week 8 Browns ??? (Kizer)

Averaging 305 yards per game, despite piss poor play calling, giving up 305 yards per game...but that isn't why they haven't won a game
-11 T/O differential is why this team hasn't won a game yet, and it isn't ALL Kizer (albeit he is the biggest offender)

As soon as this team stops with turnovers and penalties, they start winning football games, it is as simple as that. They don't need to have another "do over" in coaching/front office/roster...the players need to grow up and become more disciplined. If they don't, then I will have to agree that Hue needs to be replaced, because at the end of the day THAT IS HIS job...not making up offensive plays for Sunday.

IF Hue stays status quo, I might even suggest following Sam's lead and promote Kirby Wilson to OC without consent from Hue...because Hue would be demoted or let go outright for insubordination. In his place, I would elevate, not Al Saunders, but Bob Saunders to HC and give him strict orders to do nothing but HC duties.

We might not need a full do-over, but we definitely need to make some changes. You said yourself, "in spite of piss poor play calling...."

We aren't tricking anyone. Our defense is getting torched on the intermediate routes, and our offensive skill players simply are not skilled enough to run the plays they are trying to run. It's a recipe for disaster as we all know...

Changes need to be made. At bare minimum we must hire an OC...To my knowledge, we are the only team in the NFL that doesn't have an OC, so that kinda speaks for itself...On defense, I'm not sure what to make of it. Hard to judge these guys when the offense just keeps failing and putting the defense in terrible situations. We turn the ball over too much, and we can't sustain any drives. It really puts the defense at a tremendous disadvantage...

A good QB would go a helluva long way at changing everything...The culture here will stay the same until we get that little problem figured out...

    Special London Game Early Edition:

    The Bad

The game is on at 9:30am so that we can all be pissed off at them all day long instead of just the usual half day of rage. Better go out and buy a full day's stock of beverages to dull the senses cause the 6 you have for the early Browns game will wear off by the 4pm games.

Just a little ray of sunshine, eh Duff.

What if Kizer, puts up a couple of TDs, the D does it's thing, and Hue stays out of the way?

We are not facing the Monatna 49ers here. They are beatable. I'd feel better if Garrett was on the field, hell I'd feel better if Kosar was on the field, in a sports coat, but hey we play with the cards we are dealt.

Biggest let down of the week for me was Hue saying we'll play as well as we've played all year in response to the impact of being in London. Wow! Couldn't you have come up with something a little better Hue. Maybe "we'll play like a Brown". Yeah that would be better.

Maybe we won't and that would be a good thing. Maybe we'll put it together while we're away from the rapidly desintegrating fans, and national media.

C"mon boys. Put on the Big Boy pants, and let's fly home winners. Champagne is on me.

It really hurts you that he will go higher than Cook in the draft for the most obvious of reasons - he's better than Cook in every facet of the game.

  15. Dont care bout that one bit...lets see who has the better NFL career....lots of mistakes have been made over the yrs in the draft....Barkley showed in this game he can dominate Purd, Rutgers, etc w that weak start n stop movement...it wont fly in the NFL

  16. Campbell Administrator Manager Commissioner

Your bias blinds you from any chance at rational thought.

In a game where O.S.U.'s defense lived behind Penn State's line of scrimmage, Barkley had 25 touches for 67 yards and a TD, and took the opening kickoff for 97 yards and a score.

There is no planet in the known universe where Dalvin Cook is a better prospect or will be a better pro than Saquon Barkley. I understand that you like to get a rise out of people by making outlandish claims, but sometimes you just come off looking lost.
