The only way some of the less popular players would be recognized would be if they're near the ACC and shopping at a place they always go to. The staff would know who they are.

If they were to go uptown to a mall, unless it was matthews, marner or nylander, I doubt it.

Well hell, ley me throw a question or two at the wall...

Two things; Bettman and the Leafs Org.

Bettman - How much of this is on him, or can we just point at the BOG. Seems to me, Bettman is their guy by choice and as long as the BOG is happy with the pocket linings, maybe Bettman is still in their sight the best for the job. I thought Gary was just their 'puppet'?

New blood would only work if the 'good ol' boys' that run the show would make it work under new leadership?

Leafs Nation... How much is this on the leafs and the city of Toronto. Maybe ownership in Toronto has been less than faithful in marketing their own brand right in their back yard, eh? If Toronto as a whole has a declining market and the needs are not addressed by the teams front office, it would spell disaster to me. Maybe the front honcho's have put so much into the product on the ice they forgot about the logistical factor of the local economy. Can the blue-collar man go to a Leafs game now? Can he even afford cable TV? Is Toronto's problem Bettman's? Is Toronto alone in this?

Lots of stuff in my little head today and maybe its just what it is... hockey being hockey. I grew up a hockey nerd. I couldn't find people tp be interested in it let alone play the game with me. Its always been a 'second fiddle' sport to the other big 3. Maybe it can thrive just as it is too and the minority of sports fans who love the game will still have their pucks...

Bettman get's an ok grade from me for his work since '93, I really can't complain.

I'm interested in what he has to offer the sport as of today, moving forward into the 2020s and beyond

    Time to cut ties IMO.

Yes, the owners are all greedy old geezers, and this is a big problem. The leafs, the owners, are all guilty of taking the faithful base for granted.

The leafs don't have a problem with tv exposure, the cbc, tsn and sportsnet are free. I was more referring to the american markets.

If you compare the SC finals tv ratings in the US with any other championship, it's sad. This is where bettman would get a failing grade from me.

You need to find a way to improve this, in a country of 320 million people, there's not enough eyeballs on the stanley cup.

It seems to me that bettman is tired at that point of the season and just can't wait for his time off.

How about a day when you could watch the game in 4D?

You have the goggles and it puts you on the ice with the players.

On second thought, I took off my molsons goggles for a bit, not that hot.

    Whats up with nucks?

5-1 over the caps in the 2nd?

    Going to 6-3!

Talking about 6-3, that's the line of every Leafs' loss this year.

I went on a 4D screen today, it was a star wars type of theme. This is the future of hockey 10 years from now, you'll be on the ice with the players.

    You heard it here first!

That's one gimmick that doesn't impress me much. Video and audio technology is great, but not the vibrating couch type stuff... not necessary in my place.

I really wish they would promote the game in its purity, not try to sugar coat things. Hell, the TV's, flat screens and smart screens is enough and the game is cool as it is. I think they are looking under the wrong rocks.

In the 2030s or before, you'll be wearing goggles and feel like you're on the ice with the players.

I bought a samsung HD flatscreen in 2010, that seemed modern at the time, and still is good. I went to look at a samsung smart tv 55" and cheaper than what I paid 7 years ago, much better.
