    Here’s a question:

What do you think of Coach Tomlin’s decision to bench Bryant?

It's a good idea. Maybe this will show MB the difference of being relevant on a team and really being ignored. This also hangs another marker on him that suggests he isn't worth trading due to the return the organization would get. I wish his talents were on the field, but I look at this to be similar to an injury... ego/head/etc.

Look, Ben has not been the sharpest this season, no denying that he’s had the slowest start in his career. What does that mean? Means he needs his receivers to help him out. AB has stepped up, didn’t think it was possible for him to be better but he is. James and McDonald have stepped up at times, they both need more consistency though. Juju has stepped up, and is getting better every week. Bryant has not, point blank. He isn’t getting many chances, but he’s doing nothing with them. That deep ball against the Bengals is an example: he was supposed to look back earlier and track the ball at about 10-15 yards down he field, but he didn’t until he was 25-30. As a result the ball falls incomplete. No it wasn’t the best throw from Ben, but that’s a play Bryant needs to make and one we have seen him make in prior years. To me it looked like a lack of effort, and this benching might indicate that Tomlin thought so too. Or it’s purely the off the field bs, as Bryant said. I don’t know, but this isn’t the first time Tomlin sat a big name player to light a fire under his a**.

I think it's excellent. Tomlin needs to tear down the tent that is the 3 ring Bryant circus. It could help Bryant and it will help the team see who is and should be in charge.

Please note this Steelers board needs beloved Lyman more than our Super Steelers need Bryant

I agree with you guys. It was a smart move. I just wanted to give Coach Tomlin props. He’s known as a players coach and gets a lot of flak for it. He showed leadership by making this statement and I hope it provides the team what it needs to move on and have the great year we all think it can have.

I read the Browns board frequently and everyone (sans one) seems to exert football knowledge in spades and comes up with very interesting ideas based on that knowledge. The Steelers board is all right but we used to be like that too. Nybites, Burghball, and TheTruth were fantastic posters because they knew what they were talking about yet didn't have identical views to each other. We also used to have some roamers travel between the boards that added spice to all of them. I'm trying to do my part to bring that back. We went through a crappy phase a little while ago. We're coming back, but we aren't at the level we used to be yet.
