It's a waste of a 7th round pick unless Loggains/Fox agree to open up the playbook and call a normal, balanced offense.

Considering what’s out there, not a bad trade.

He has had some good games for the Chargers and he’s a pretty big dude, something the Bears just do not have at WR.

    They HAD to do something.

The Bears have done enough up to this point to give themselves a chance if Mitch breaks out. They haven't given him the chance yet but he's got Ws. It's not much to pay. Plus it gives a much needed weapon to help Mitch develop. Even if it's not a terribly great one.

Yeah, I have no objections. He'll be the second NFL WR on our roster, next to Wright. A 7th rounder is a steal, as far as I'm concerned - we know Pace can't draft WR's, and our roster is so weak that Inman doubles the amount of talent we have. As was said above, of course, if Trubisky throws the ball fewer than 10 times... I just hope Inman can block.

Interesting. To me this means this week's game in NO will have the same blueprint, no passing.

Fairly good timing. Gives him what's left of this week and then they have the bye week to get him up to speed with the Bears super dynamic offense.

I haven't heard much of anything from him but hey a real WR is something.

Uhhh.......did you see what Loggains said today during his presser?

Winning is the most important thing to a QB's development at this point, not how many passes he throws or reads he makes.

I'm looking for the video/clip on chicagobears.com; but it was referenced/discussed by AM 670's afternoon show today. I share Bernstein's opinion--how in the hell did no reporter call his ass out on that? What data do you have to support that?

    Sooooooo.....

This is a pretty useless fucking trade if its about "winning."

I'm still flabbergasted how Loggains is still employed.

Yep, fucking useless trade. Just wasted a 7th round pick. No point in surrounding Trubs with talent if you're not gonna throw the ball to the talent.

Seriously? This is the Chicago Bears. Incompetence and poor results have never gotten anyone fired. Juicebox got fired because he was an embarrassment, not because he was incompetent. Lovie got fired because he wasn't Emery's guy, same reason Jauron was fired with JA. If you're under contract and you suck, your job is secure. This is why John Fox will be back regardless of the record this year.

Although our D is playing well, I expect the Saints to have their way with them. Their running game has made major strides this year, sans AP, and they are one of the most balanced offenses in the NFL. I expect them to score in the high 20s or low 30s.

The question is does the playbook open up when the game is out of reach, as it always did when Glennon was playing? Based on Loggains statements and Fox's history, the answer is no.

    Here is the full presser.

I like Loggains pressers. They are pretty informative. Much better than Fox’s. Make of it what you will.

I have not been impressed with Loggains play calling. I think him moving to the sideline instead of up in the box has something to do with it. I would hope he improves as the season goes along. I thought he did well considering the talent at QB he had to deal with last season. He may not be the right guy going forward but he hasn’t been a dumpster fire. Yet anyways.

I like the trade. Everyone including the Bears coaches know that the passing game is going to need to improve if they are to continue winning games. I do t see how adding this guy can hurt.

If John Fox isn't fired it will completely ruin any chance Trubisky has of succeeding. He can survive one season under the iron fist of his caveman football mentality but anymore than that will be a complete waste. I truly believe John Fox could have ruined the careers of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning if given a chance.

I don't think it is a lock that he is back regardless of record. Watch for Pete Carmichael in New Orleans. Connections to Pace and while he doesn't have HC experience, the young offensive coaches have caught fire this season with few having success. Hopefully Pace will see what Sean McVay did with Goff who was almost ruined in one year under John Fox Jr., Jeff Fisher.

Fangio isn't coming back if Fox, he is the only coach I would want to come back so if he is leaving might as well start over and turn the team to an offensive minded HC but one who understands the importance of defense.

As for the trade, low risk and is an upgrade in experience to most everything else. Sounds like he is injury prone which seems to be par for the course but at least has seen the field in a few seasons unlike the other guys they currently have.

If Loggains/Fox don't mix it up a little, it won't matter who is playing WR.

This is a no risk trade. He massively upgrades you at WR....which is sad because on other teams he's average at best and a #3 or #4 guy on most rosters.

The only issue I have with it is they traded for a guy known more for his play in the slot than outside...and you already have a guy like that, that's capable, in Kendall Wright. Would have preferred they found someone that can play the X receiver and make defenses respect it so it opens up some room for the Y and Z. But in season trades in the NFL are rare and you don't have a lot to choose from so you get what you get I guess.

The Bears don't have a receiver that can get off press coverage. They don't have a receiver that can draw safety coverage over the top. If they did...it would make Kendall Wright a lot better.

Seems like the 7th rounder is a conditional pick so this is literally a no risk trade. If he's a bum then there's no cost. Trubisky's development takes priority over everything else, a trade for a WR HAD to happen with over half the season left to play. I doubt Inman pans out personally but have no problem at all with taking a shot on this guy. Significantly improving your team through in-season trades is very rare.

You sure about this man? I've hardly seem him play so don't know, but bringing in a slot WR would really make no sense. As you say, we have Wright. Also, the Bears aren't in 3 WR sets very often so, again, seems pointless.

Inman's surely gonna play outside, its the only spot that makes sense of the move. Looking at his measurables im pretty sure Inman is gonna come in and immediately be the biggest WR on the team. Pace is trying to provide Trubs with a target who can go and get the ball, win a contested catch, help his QB out and relieve some of the pressure.

Could it be the boy blunder has come full circle and now decided that having a WR on the outside who can be a big target for his QB.... is a good thing? Well who fucking knew!

  19. aggie16 Franchise Player Bears

I think he can play both but BWW is correct, he did play the majority of the time in the slot for the Chargers.

He was brought in because he was probably the best available for the price. He is not here to replace Wright, he is here to replace Gentry or McBride as starters.

This guy has talent if he can stay healthy but low risk move by Pace to try and upgrade WR position.

Given his size I'm hoping he has the ability to get off a jam.
