Oh wow, Myles Garrett gets pancake blocked on a play. He must be a bust. I don't understand why they haven't cut him already. Dude was double-teamed nearly ever snap he played. Still notched four tackles, two stops, one TFL, and one sack.
Ugly Joe Thomas likely done for the season with a (believed to be) torn triceps. Full details and impact will be known tomorrow. His streak of 10,363 consecutive snaps broken, may be a sport record that stays put for a long, long time. Some have suggested this is a career-threatening injury. Not that he can't recover, but just the toll of the injury, the recovery, the very real fact this team is spiraling out of control towards 0-16 and that he's a free agent after 2018. Shizer They posted a stat that Joe Thomas has only won 48 games as a Brown since being drafted. Keep in mind that 10 of those came his rookie season. That's 38 games over the following 10 seasons (nine-and-a-half, since technically 2017 is one of those). That might be reason enough for him to hang them up - he's already earned first ballot HOF credentials. At 35 years old and facing, what's potentially a complete franchise overhaul again, does he even want to suit up in 2018 and try to make it an even 50 games total? Fun Fact Speaking of win totals. Mega-bust (and FSU bum) Cam Erving won a total of four games in his two seasons with the Browns. He won five in his first five games as a new member of the Kansas City Chiefs. I guess maybe he did get the last laugh?
McCourty had a pick six when the score was 33-3 2nd half...nobody cares anymore at that point about stats cause the game was over, yes Eddie Jackson made a difference w those plays and won his team the game....you want Garrett getting that sack in the 1Q or 3rd n 3 w 3 mins remaining in OT when their near FG range? Thats making an impact...instead Mariota had all day to hit Matthews for about 12 yd gain...game set match FG is good

This is trash, tbh. Garrett's sack came in the fourth quarter of a 3-point game that led to a punt by the opposing team and the offense promptly marched down the field to tie the game 9-9.
Ya it went down as a sack cause he was the closest player to him....read the article and you will see if he impacted the game
Reminder... here's the passing charts from the two games DeShone Kizer (according to our head coach and QB guru) had his best performances: Where he went 28 of 54 (51.9%) for 232 yards (4.3 YPA), 0 TD, 3 INT, for a 40.0 QB rating. Where he threw seven passes further than 15 yards and completed two of them. Where he played the same game that he eviscerated Cody Kessler as a rookie for. Friendly reminder, Kessler completed 66.7% of his passes and was 92.5 on QB rating as a rookie. #LightsOut
With all of these currently high-rated Browns players, you'd think they were on top of the AFC North.
A) NONE of them are in position to score points B) NONE of them are responsible for any of the 19 turnovers I can't say that none are responsible for the league leading 58 penalties, but... The turnovers (especially in the red zone) and penalties are pretty much THE factor in the Browns being winless to this point.
Exactly, @IrishDawg42 ! If you look at the positions/players that are well-regarded analytically, it jives with what we're seeing on the football field. Browns o-line highly-rated. Result: Browns' QBs have the second-longest time to throw in the NFL. Browns secondary highly-rated. Result: Browns' pass defense at 15th in the NFL (up from 21st). Browns defensive line highly-rated. Result: Browns' run defense at 6th in the NFL (up from 31st). Browns defenders highly-rated. Result: Browns' overall defense at 9th in the NFL (up from 31st). Browns QBs rated last in the NFL. Result: Browns' scoring offense is worst in the NFL and lead the League in turnovers. In two years, the team spent five picks in the Top 75 on defenders and went from last in the NFL to 9th in the NFL. Talent + Good Coach (Gregg Williams) = success. Over the same time, the Browns spent four picks in the Top 75* on offensive players and have improved a bit in yards but declined in productivity. Talent + Poor Coach (Hue Jackson) = stagnation/regression. *Shon Coleman was technically the 76th pick.
Or you'd think that these ratings are all lacking context and perspective, given the many variables that go into not only playing any one given position, but the game that takes place around them.
I know stats vs reality does not always tell the story. Games must be played. I'm just surprised at all the Browns' All-Stars.
