For the record, in the above story I was about 6 or 7 years old. It sounds a lot sillier if you imagine me as an adult in that situation. Ha!

no more All-Star Game...??

 

That's a lot more interesting than an all-star game. The only problem is fitting an 82 game schedule in there, hockey until july?

Only real solution is cutting down to 75 games, the owners would never go for that.

 

^ go back to the old style of the ASG like in the 80's, but limit roster sizes. call all penalties and make it a real game again. not all ASG were laughable back then.

 

and if you get rid of the game itself, then the AS competition night goes away and a lot of fans enjoy that skills competition. some of the players kids too.

 

I really don't want to see the season shortened... I wouldn't go for that either, but some are suggesting dropping the game and just doing the skillz competition. That seems to make sense. The game is kinda useless as it stands... its very predictable.

 

well making it 3 on 3 did change the outcome a lot. no idea who would win but it's still silly. goalies have no chance as the players are just too good. use mini nets, make the offensive zone smaller - do something.

Hey, Catfish - the Flyers can go screw!

 

Pysyk has made several nice defensive plays in this game, and then gets stupidly out of position, pursuing in he middle of nowhere, and allows a goal I could've scored down to the open man down low.

Flyers are doing a good job harassing through the middle and into their own zone. The Panthers are getting across the line, but not coming up with much at that point. Whatever change they made after the early goings is working.

 

Anybody see this?
