Where Do We Go From Here?

  1. I did do research....I dont care what the reasoning is w regime change, scandal etc the fact is he was gone after a few yrs....if he was so good he could have stayed on.....we are really comparing 15-17 yrs old vs 21-23 yrs old? How come other teams havnt gone 1-21? How come Houst rolls the Browns and completely shuts down their offense w/out one of the best players in the game? How come a guy just traded for after 2-3 weeks torches the Browns w his arm and feet(Brissett)...do I really have to keep going on and on....yes you are Mr excuse cause you are blinded for your love w the Browns....I probably love FSU just as much as you love the Browns but I can definitely see w the talent on this team its the COACHING thats holding them back....they need a new OL coach, DC and Jimbo must bring in a OC so he can concentrate on running the team....Im not blaming it on a 18 yr old Frosh thats been on campus 3 months....its coaching simple as that

I am still putting about 90% of the suffering solely on "Trust Me" Jackson.

We don't know where the call came from, but they spent a year evaluating if they were directionally correct on defense. They determined Ray Horton and the 34 scheme were not working and made a change. Likewise, we'll have two full seasons to evaluate if "Lights Out" Jackson is directionally correct as head coach and offensive coordinator.

    To date, he's failed spectacularly.

Even if they decide to replace him externally, they can still stick with the 5-year plan by keeping the F/O in tact (or sure, add Peyton Manning for a touch of spice). The Browns don't have a franchise QB identified and that's the single-biggest differentiating factor in an offense in today's game.

And being 100% honest, if this style of offense is what Hue wants to run - even if they make him promote a coordinator to handle the playcalls, it's not something I want to watch.

Pierre Thomas had EXCELLENT hands too. RB screens galore. He probably led the NFL RBs a time or two in receiving. He was also one of the best blocking backs. Not as one dimensional as your added description.

Colston cracked 1000 yds in 6 of his first 7 seasons, including his rookie campaign. Doesn't matter if he WAS a TE or what small school he went to. Irrelevant info.

Shockey was definitely winding down at that point and you're better off comparing Njoku to Shockey, because Jimmy Graham to Njoku would simply be unfair.

How many coordinators stay in the same position for a decade? Dick LeBeau and... ?

But I do agree a Peyton/Payton thing could help Cleveland. It certainly wouldn't hurt.

Thomas: 7.6 rush APG, 34.6 rush YPG, 4.6 YPC, 3.1 rec PG, 25.5 rec YPG, 8.0 YPR
Johnson: 5.2 rush APG, 22.5 rush YPG, 4.3 YPC, 3.7 rec PG, 34.7 rec YPG, 9.4 YPR

Marques Colston played his career with a guy who averaged 4,917 yards per season.

Personally, he averaged 4.9 receptions per game, 66.8 yards per game, and caught 64.7 percent of his passes.

Kenny Britt in 2016 averaged 4.5 receptions per game, 66.8 yards per game, and caught 61.3 percent of his passes. Britt's quarterbacks were rookie Jared Goff and backups Sean Mannion and Case Keenum.

The guy/role Britt replaced (Pyror) averaged 4.8 receptions per game, 62.9 yards per game, and caught 55.0% of his passes in 2016. Pryor's quarterbacks were Bob Griffin, Josh McCown, rookie Cody Kessler, and Charlie Whitehurst.

    Link.

Is that Kenny Britt(les)'s career average (like Colston) or just his peak? Career-wise, Colston is more memorable than Kenny Britt. The jury is still out on Duke. The Browns players don't have "it" in comparison to the Saints players we are discussing. The BIGGEST difference is Brees vs ?????. Like I said, player for player is not as close as you're trying to sell it, but it would be interesting to see Peyton/Payton in Cleveland.

So much for Peyton & Payton.

  10. Depends on their ultimate goal...they want to be a HC?....Jim Johnson(Eagles) off the top of my head

So one dude? Out of 32 spots?

  12. I dont have time to research right now but Im not talking 10 yrs as well.....I never gave a # of yrs....you can feel he's doing a good job and thats your opinion, but I see a defense that is made to fail more times than not....thats not sound in my eyes

You did... you said "not for long".

Then you gave one example of someone who was in a job for a long time.

    One.

  16. You really read what you want....I said off the top of my head.....go find some stats or something and show us how Calhoun is a top 5 DB, this Browns player had a ranking of 85%....blah blah....I will say it again the only stat that matters is W's n L's

Bryant's contract tolled with the suspension so he is also under contract for 2018. So it's not happening with a 3rd or 4th round pick. I guess they would have to consider a 2nd considering it's going to be near the top of the 2nd but I still don't think they'd do it with him under contract for the next two seasons.

Thanks for that nugget. Sportrac failed to mention the extension due to suspended time.
