Red Wings and their new arena. It looks awesome. I know people love the bigger seats and club boxes etc, and after my golf trip to Lambeau last week, I appreciate a real damn seat compared to a bench ! Nothing can compare to the Joe and rightfully so, but this new arena looks great! Wow the Joe and Lambeau in the same year-talk about lucky!

 

I wouldn't call that luck... i'd say blessed. lol.

 

A little bit of both.

i saw a commercial during saturday night's flyers-ducks game. for the first time they're selling 3 game packs including the Eric Lindros Jersey retirement game, which is insane to get tix right now and like 8 other games as part of the package. The game choices weren't great to pick from, but it's still hockey and I only live 15 min from the arena. So I'm going to see Vancouver, Dan's Sabres and Skinny's Maple Leafs! The Sabres game falls on the same night as the new Star Wars movie. Sorry, but I'm a longtime SW fan and have seen the last 2 movies on Thursday night as my theater opens a few screens with late viewing times. So I'm pulling a double feature - Flyers v. Sabres at 7 and Star Wars at 11pm. I'm off that Friday for my winter break from work for 2 and a half weeks, so I can sleep in the next morning and I live 5 min from the theater !

haha - in Appleton, Wi. About 40 min away. Saw the Packers-Bears game in Lambeau!!

talk of next year in Pittsburgh and see the Steelers - Bears. All of my college buddies I go with are Bears fans, so they always see the Bears on the road when they golf.

 

No offence to Dan, I just don't see Alexander being there with his older brother.

A 220 lbs guy going into his 30's that's not really known as a grinder,doesn't oide well to the speed of the game.

 

I'm not sure if there's a comment above this one that would put this in context. But, we know for a fact that it's too early to really compare the two bros.

At Alex's current age, Will was starting his second season for a good Marlies team. Alex was with a bad Amerks team last year, and now he's on a vastly improved AHL club.

Alex has some nagging injuries - that's identical to Will at that time. Alex has outperformed Will on the international stage (to be fair, Will was knocked out of the WJC Tourney in Helsinki by a dirty hit). Alex has better speed.

If we did have enough to go on - which, again, we don't - then objectively speaking the odds favor Alex for a better NHL career.

 

Maybe I haven't seen enough, I didn't know about the nagging injuries.

Not really knocking Alex, just surprised how well Will has come along, big shoes to fill.
