So what's the word on Gordon? Heard he got out of rehab last Thursday and nothing since other than the NFL saying that there was no reinstatement process going on at this time. Anything change since then? I haven't been able to find a thing. As much as I don't want to rely on a 3-strike player (and the marijuana is a topic for another thread) who hasn't been deserving of being trusted, the Browns sure as hell need his services in a big way. Even if he's rusty as hell, at this point I'll take a 60-70% Gordon over the rest of the crappy WR's we've got now. And if he does return, I sure hope he can stay clean and keep it together. I'm not going to hold my breath, as he'll have to prove it on a daily basis.
I soooo don't want to hire a new head coach again, but Hue has brought nothing to the table. He was supposed to be some kind of Offensive mastermind, and a QB whisperer.....?????????? He doesn't seem to be able to recognize QB talent, first of all, then he seems remarkably incapable of developing that which he has. Of all the guys he has had, only Hogan has progressed, and I'm pretty sure Hue has spent very little time on him. That speaks volumes about his ability to positively impact a QBs developement. And this is your strength? His insistence on making Kizer a QB hasn't proven A) to be a good choice, B) has taken his attention away from the Offense as a whole. He is focussed on kizer, to the detriment of the team, and the organiztionn, that is undermining his own authority, and may well end his tenure. i truly don't want to start over, but his Head Coaching decisions have been poor. It now seems like he is no longer even being the HC, and has opted to the QB coach, and is failing at that.If he doesn't abandon the Kizer project, at least as 'our starter", he is asking to be relieved. Simple as that. Everything we have seen, demands he sit Kizer, to give his young team a chance to complete and develope. There is talent on this team. IF Hue doesn't sit Kizer and devote his energies to the team we will never see that talent. Maybe his time will come, but it isn't now. Your time may come before his, if you don't focus on winning.

Mary Kay Cabot saying today she hasn't heard anything and doesn't expect him to be reinstated this season. Everything else on the internet is, predictable, unreliable.
I think Josh deserves to re-instated. Hell I thought his banishment was BS, but with all that, I hope he gets another shot. I really hope he's ready for it, and could help the Browns, but barring that I hope he gets to play again somewhere. To me it's like an 18 yr old getting a DWI, and because of that is barred from so many jobs for the rest of his life. Not fair. Frankly the driving while intoxicated is worse. Good luck Josh.
Pro Football Talk reports Josh Gordon (suspended) has not applied for reinstatement. Gordon is reportedly out of rehab, and there were rumors floating around last month he would get reinstated. He has yet to apply, however, and it is far from a guarantee he will gain clearance from the NFL even if he does. We continue to guess he will not play this season.
Ugly More Brantley and less Shelton? I think he flashed a bit in the Cincinnati game. He was billed as a Top 50 guy with pass rush potential.
It saddens me what has become of our team. It saddens me even more what has become of these boards. We are all knowledgable fans of the game. We used to share that knowledge with each other and we did that with respect. Now it appears that we just hurl insults around and apparently disregard someone's opinion that differs from our own.
You must have forgotten what happens when you attack the other guys' quarterback. Anderson/Quinn McCoy/Weeden Weeden/Campbell Weeden/Hoyer Hoyer/Manziel Nothing divides a team (and a fan base) quite like a good QB battle.
My apologies Lyman, sincerely. I am trying very hard to just stay away from the boards because of all the same tired stuff being written. I can't seem to say anything positive, so it would be best for me to just stay away. This stuff has really gotten under my skin for some reason and I can't seem to kick it. All I want is a little patience, but to hear some call for change once again a 1/4 of the way through a build...I gotta say, if they start over now, I am done with football altogether. I can't keep doing this every other year. I would rather lose now, expecting to be a much better team 3-4 years into a build. I just can't take all the negative comments about 21-24 year old kids who haven't even learned how to be professionals yet, let alone a play book and how to play together as a unit. Again, I apologize for all the negativity and will try very hard to just stay away.
Personally, I will be extremely disappointed if you jump out of the conversation Irish. With all the political bullshit that I sift through everyday this part of the boards has become a mental refuge of sorts.
Irish . . . We are all adults on here. As such, we should be able to combat negativity with adult logic and common sense. Walking away encompasses neither. Just accept that not everyone has to (or will) agree with you. The undeniable fact remains that this is a shitty team and everyone of us has their own take on what it will take to fix it. I urge you to stick around.
I haven't forgotten that. Hell, I wrote an article a couple of years ago with the premise that the most popular player on the Browns was always the back-up QB. But . . . we used to air our thoughts without attacking a fellow fan !!!
In that pic, I believe what we see are the tears of Browns fans falling from the 2nd deck. And you can see in the background, the lower deck is deserted.
