Mitch has been named the starting QB for da Bears for their next game against the Vikings. Thoughts?

Beat me to the punch by 3 minutes you Steeler fan summbitch! Lol...

This move needed to happen, and this just happens to be the right week to do it.

With Dalvin Cook going down for the year.....Monday night is now a winnable game. Vikings defense is stout though.

    We're going 13-3.

In all seriousness, it's a very winnable game against a team we beat solidly last year at home. I hope the offense is rejuvenated and the threat of the pass opens up more in the run game for Howard and Cohen.

I didn't much care about the playcalling with Glennon since the execution was shit no matter what, but will be really interesting to see what Loggains does now. My worry is he will be too conservative, horizontal passes and bubble screens galore. Hopefully not.

I don't think so. But you can bet on tons of bootlegs and moving pockets

They tried Glennon and it didn't work out , hope this is the QB we have been desperately waiting and looking for .

The question is if you're Mike Zimmer/George Edwards.....how do you approach this game?

Stack the box and dare Trubisky to throw? Roll your coverage and try to confuse the rookie? Bring extra pressure?

I imagine you go the obvious route and stack the box. But Trubisky's ability to move the pocket and his throwing ability has to make them think at least a little.

Hockey season starts Thursday......Cubs play Friday....Trubisky starts Monday.

    I'm feeling a bit better.

I have a reason to be excited again! Hopefully it stays that way.

  13. Be interesting to see if they activate Gentry. Wish the kid could play special teams. Thompson and Bellamy are a waste of a roster spot, but they play special teams.

Wait, What? Did we pick up some new WRs? Just kidding. I think the simple enthusiasm for Trubisky can effect better play out of our sub-par group.

What intrigues me more is if there are any plans for using some three TE formations. I’d love to see that especially if Shaheen could gel. It seems he’d be a potential mismatch problem for the defense. And he can catch. One TD and been open on red zone plays in previous games. And Trubisky can actually throw more than 1.2 yards accurately.

Lol I'm running the site's Twitter account, so I'm supposed to be on top of breaking news if I can!

My apathy has finally been extinguished. I haven't been as excited for a Bears game as I will be for Monday nights in I don't remember how long. I'm not expecting miracles as there are going to be bumps in the road as there always are with rookies but this changes the whole offense and what they can do. This should give the defense a spark as well.

Monday's game is extremely winnable. Keenum is nothing special and without Cook, the Vikings offense is very limited. I expect the crowd to be absolutely electric with Trubisky starting and hope the players can feed off that and beat the Vikings. Their defense is going to be tough and I expect Zimmer to give the kid all he can handle but still think they have a fighting chance with the lack of offensive firepower the Vikings have.

I'm not expecting Trubisky to come out and light up the Vikings D. I just hope he shows the same potential he showed in preseason. Give us something to look forward to.

I'm shocked they actually made the move, but excited. Sure, the WRs still suck, the Secondary is atrocious, we have a gaping injury hole at MLB, and haven't been generating any pass rush. Loggains is still the OC, Fox is still HC.

But we have two very good RBs and now a chance to see the kid take some lumps at QB.

Maybe he'll put up a decent showing by the time we see the damnable cheesedicks again. One can hope.

I think this was a business decision.

Again, a very close friend had told me that sans an injury, they weren't starting him this year.

    So...

    Why is he starting?

    Because viewership is way down.

    The stadium is not full.

Concession sales are WAAAAAY fucking down.

Jersey sales are at an all time low for active Bears players. BTW, this is serious. When you walk around Soldier field you see shit tons of Payton, Urlacher, Butkus... Current players? Almost None. You see a kyle long here and there. But that's it. White failed. Glennon is a joke. Floyd is a joke. Kyle Fuller is a dud.

You may start seeing some Cohen Jerseys. But, people are going to confuse his name with a jew putting his own name on his own jersey. (there is humor there that I am entitled to use).

So, even though the plan was to wait. With a Monday night game at home on the line, $$$ says THEY HAVE NO CHOICE ANYMORE.

Ownership is feeling it. GOOD. When we got fucking crushed by the Packers AGAIN I hope to hell they start to feel our pain the pocketbook.

This is similar to a post I had last year, who on this team is a star? Who's the face of the franchise? That was back when we had shitwad, so you could say him. Back in the mid 00's we had so many awesome defensive players that people would buy Jerseys for, Urlacher, Briggs, Tillman, then you also had guys like Hester. And the team was competitive.

I was thinking the other day, was the decision to fire Lovie a terrible one? I don't think he was going to get us to the promised land, but the fucking wheels came off something fierce after that.
