It's a 10-second runoff because think about it. Detroit likely would not line up on time for another snap (and in this situation I'm sure they wouldn't as they weren't ready to). If they didn't let the clock run off Atlanta could be screwed the win they deserved by making that stop. Atlanta would have more right to be furious that Detroit ever would have.
Byron Marshall could be called up but the might look to someone else's roster is the want a different type of back.

Baltimore Ravens... John Harbaugh doesn’t want Ravens to play in London again The Ravens were blown out by the Jaguars in London on Sunday, and Baltimore coach John Harbaugh hopes it’s the last time his team plays overseas. “To be honest with you — and maybe I’ll get into trouble for saying this — don’t plan on going over there any time soon to play again,” Harbaugh said. “So, somebody else can have that job.” The NFL is ultimately in charge of the schedule, so the Ravens can’t refuse to go to London. But going this year likely means the league won’t force the Ravens to return any time soon. Two teams, the Rams and Jaguars, have voluntarily played multiple home games in London, but other teams aren’t forced to go year after year. After the four games this year are played, the NFL will have had 21 games in London. The Jaguars have played five London games, the most of any franchise. That’s followed by the Dolphins (four), and Rams (three). The 49ers, Buccaneers, Giants, Lions, Patriots, Saints and Vikings have each had two London games. The Bears, Bengals, Bills, Broncos, Browns, Cardinals, Chiefs, Colts, Cowboys, Chargers, Falcons, Jets, Raiders, Ravens, Steelers and Washington have each been on the London schedule once. The Texans, Titans, Panthers, Packers, Eagles and Seahawks have not yet appeared on the London schedule. Those six teams should all expect to be sent to London in the next couple years. If Harbaugh has his way, the Ravens’ first appearance will also be their last. (from PFT)
The Eagles sign Kenyon Barner to replace Sproles. The Eagles didn't offer him his RFA tender this offseason and he was cut by the Chargers at the end of the preseason.
Kansas City Chiefs... The Chiefs just keep breaking big plays. When Kareem Hunt ran for a 69-yard touchdown in the final minutes of the Chiefs’ win over the Chargers on Sunday, it represented the ninth consecutive game in which the Chiefs scored a touchdown of 50 yards or longer. That’s the longest streak in NFL history. Hunt has done it in all three games of his NFL career. In Week Two Hunt had a 53-yard touchdown run, and in Week one Hunt had a 78-yard touchdown reception. Tyreek Hill added a 75-yard touchdown reception in Week One. Hill scored a 95-yard punt return touchdown in the final game of the 2016 regular season. The week before that Hill had a 70-yard touchdown run, and Travis Kelce had an 80-yard touchdown reception. Hill had a 68-yard touchdown run the week earlier and a 78-yard punt return touchdown a week before that. Before that Albert Wilson had a 55-yard touchdown run. And a week before that, Hill got the streak started with an 86-yard touchdown on a free kick after a safety. The Chiefs may be both the NFL’s best team, and the NFL’s most fun team. (PFT) ______________ ________________________ Chiefs kinda took me by surprise. I didn't think Hunt would be quite that good so far... good, but not this good. The play of Alex Smith is pretty amazing too. Truly a fun team to watch unless they are playing your favorite team.
Los Angeles Rams... Todd Gurley named NFC offensive player of the month... Rams running back Todd Gurley followed up a strong rookie season with a less successful 2016 campaign, but it looks like the rollercoaster is headed back up in 2017. Gurley became the first player since Calvin Johnson in 2011 to score six touchdowns in the first three games of the season when he scored three times in last Thursday’s victory over the 49ers. Gurley also ran for 113 yards in that game, marking his first time over 100 yards on the ground since that rookie season. The strong start to the year has made Gurley the choice as the NFC offensive player of the month for September.
Ty Montgomery suffered broken ribs and won’t return. He did it early and played through it for several plays.
The Eagles will be heading to Los Angeles without defensive tackle Fletcher Cox. Cox missed practice all week with a calf injury and coach Doug Pederson announced he’d be out for the game against the Chargers in a Friday press conference. Cox won’t travel and Pederson expressed some optimism that he’ll be back in action sooner rather than later. “He’s actually feeling better today,” Pederson said in comments distributed by the team. “I don’t think so, personally. When I mentioned day-to-day, it’s really day-to-day with him, and he is feeling better, though, even today.”
