Turn that positive into a negative, good buddy! #1 (Browns): Josh Rosen, QB UCLA #4 (Texans): Saquon Barkley, RB Penn State
1 game...with a migraine... He scored 14 points in game 1 and 21 points in game 3... Look, he has a LONG way to go, but his skillset is light years better than the other two. If he can learn to control his release, then he becomes more accurate. If his internal clock starts telling him to throw the damn ball away, then we stop losing yards on sacks. If his eyes start moving at game speed, then he starts seeing the entire field earlier. BUT, if two of those things happen, his arm and body are so far advanced over Hogan and Kessler, they are not in the same league as him. If none of them happen, we are still in major need of a QB. Either of the other two, probably can't do enough to win the games we shouldn't win anyway...the other games that we have a chance, they might or might not do just enough to win. Kizer on a mistake free day will blow out some of these other teams, neither of the other two have that in their repertoire. Now, Kizer is a LONG way from telling whether he is capable of having a mistake free day which is what scares me the most.
Are we really talking about the "what ifs" of going 0-16 under Kizer? lol! smh...Don't fall for all these inane 3 week stats that SAS keeps throwing out there. None of that shit matters. We have the worst WR corp in the NFL by far. Our corners suck beyond belief. Plenty of holes remain on this roster. That's not on Kizer...Wins are going to be hard to come by. This team is outmanned on a weekly basis at very key positions. An offense, and QB in particular, need to get into a rhythm. How the hell can that happen with our receivers performing like they are??? And if it's not dropped passes, it's drive killing penalties. These are the growing pains that come from building the youngest roster in the league by far...Yes, Kizer needs to improve, as does everyone else... We hear our coach preach patience all year. Then after 3 games, one of which we took a perennial powerhouse to the hilt, the panic is ensuing...good lord. There's going to be highs and lows folks. It's not ALL going to be a shitstorm. Please remember that we are asking Kizer to win games, when he has Kenny Britt and Ricardo Lewis as starting wideouts. I mean, my gawd, I couldn't decide which to nickname "stonehands" so I'll lay it on both, since both are so richly deserving...If we can eliminate the drops, and mental mistakes from the supporting cast, it'll go a long way towards the development of our young QB....But that still might not result in W's, unless Kizer can play CB.. Bailing now, and blaming everything on Kizer is absurd....
If our WR suck so much WHY does the coach insist on throwing the phuqueing ball so much? If you want Kizer to develop then Run the damn Ball
Wow. I feel you are going to be alone on an island here if you are willing to go 0-16 in order to determine Kizer's rate of development. These next three games (CIN, NYJ, HOU), were thought to be winnable games not too long ago. Right now, with the way Kizer and the Browns are playing, I predict we lose all three putting us at 0-6. Truth be known, I don't see a win in the last 10 games either so 0-16 is a real possibility.
You are misreading my statement...I TRULY FEEL Kizer gives us the best chance to win games...I don't think for a second that Hogan being inserted means that the Browns are going to win more games in 2017...not for a split second. Kizer developing is the only way this team wins, imho...sorry if that is a differing opinion, I've never worried about being on an island. I say what I feel..
For the record, even on my lonely old island...I will state for the record, this team will win 3+ games this year no matter who the QB is. Mistakes are costing this team wins, not talent. This team is better than last year, but the mistakes that go with too many young players will cost you games. Out of 16 tries, the mistakes will be minimized in at least a quarter of those games. Minimize the mistakes and this team wins..
Well, I guess I'm the dumb ass....He's the only other option on Sundays so, if Kizer isn't playing then SOMEONE needs to be in at the QB position...or are you suggesting they play without one? I'll wait..............................................................................
Are you just baiting me Lyman? Because I'm not in the mood...you want to ask me a question, I'll answer with my opinion...You want to be a smart ass and I'll probably get belligerent on your ass, so it's your choice.
I've said over and over that I will support Kizer because he is the starting QB of the Cleveland Browns. My point in the above post is that, IF Kizer doesn't improve his play we will go 0-16 on the year. That would put Hue at 1-31 for two years. That won't give him a chance to go 1-32.
And I personally think it goes well beyond Kizer. If team doesn't stop with the silly penalties and the WR corps doesn't start concentrating on catching the ball, the QB will not matter. I don't feel any of the 3 losses are squarely on the shoulders of Kizer, like you apparently do. I wish it were that easy to just fix ONE player, we would be in good shape.
Wrong again. I do not feel that any of our 3 losses are on Kizer. (Even though he had some serious contributions to those losses.) I put those 3 losses squarely on the shoulders of Hue Jackson.
Exactly, Irish.....We are basically just repeating each other at this point. But I think it's falling on deaf ears anyway. Seems most Browns fans have already made their judgements on Deshone. Sad as that is... Evidently people are expecting Kizer to throw it, then run down the field and catch it.... There is no patience left in Brownstown. What can ya do?
Flashback to August 2017 when I said, "DeShone needs to sit and learn the game for at least two seasons. Then he can be awesome." Hue Jackson sold us a bill of goods by naming him the starter and insisting he was ready to go. Shame on me for believing an NFL head coach being paid millions of dollars to teach grown men how to play a child's game over my own two eyes and (what's left of) that gray matter between my ears.
Then why did you post this: I see you threw in "and the Browns" for good measure...but Kizer is the only name you singled out. Britt had 3 drops against the Colts, one that he tipped into an interception. I am getting a feeling deep in the pit of my stomach, no matter what I say going forward, your reply will begin with..."Wrong" in some way shape or form. Maybe it's time for me to stop telling you my opinions on anything Browns, or attempting to interpret anything you say. You ask me what the stopping point is on the Kizer evaluation in terms of wins...In a nutshell, I say the losses won't stop by stopping an evaluation of Kizer, and you interpret that as I don't care if they go winless as long as they are evaluating Kizer. So, I then interpret that as if you are saying moving on from Kizer WILL help this team win...but apparently I am wrong there as well... How about you stop speaking in riddles and just tell me what your opinions are on the Browns in general, including Kizer.
Smart ass.....just letting you know ahead of time, I'm taking a little break from your snide comments....Please don't address me personally for the time being. I'm in a mood and instead of telling you where to go, which isn't constructive in any way...I feel it is better for these boards for me to just ignore you.
Or you know, just the actual NFL stats. 52.3 QB rating is the lowest rating this season. I see you and @IrishDawg42 must be pulling double shifts at the Excuse Factory. You guys really need a better union.
I don't think 2 seasons, but having the luxury of sitting Kizer behind a capable veteran for a season might have been nice. The thing is, we don't have one on the roster. Deshone is the best QB on the roster. Hogan doesn't have any real experience that you'd want your rookie to learn from, and please dear god, don't say Cody K...Nobody learns anything from watching that. Hue Jackson didn't name him starter. Hue named him 3rd string. Kizer earned his way to the top spot by outperforming the others in training camp and the preseason...Wth else is Hue supposed to do? Like it or not, Deshone is the guy. He is Hue's best option... As Bluez pointed out on another thread, Bernie Kosar had the luxury of learning the nuances of the NFL behind a very capable Gary Danielson, and that was a great way to bring the rookie along...Hue doesn't have a "Gary Danielson" to turn to, or anything even remotely close.... No. Shame on you for bailing on Kizer after 3 games.
