I don't know SAS. Clearly though, Kizer missed him on several occassions where he had the coverage beat. This is just part of the learning curve for Kizer I imagine...On a couple of those plays where Britt had his man beat, Deshone never even glanced to that side of the field. Can I blame it on a headache?

Because up until this week, your first round draft pick who was hurt for 6 games last year was the #1 target in the offense. They will ALWAYS justify the draft picks first. That's why Higgins will be a bigger part this week...

There's a lot of things to "blame" it on, but they need to watch film and improve week to week...

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Browns lost to the Ravens on Sunday. Wednesday, they signed a player off their practice squad. The Browns added defensive back Reggie Porter to their active roster, the team announced.

Porter, a rookie, is an undrafted free agent out of Utah who originally signed with the Colts. He was waived by Indianapolis in June and spent the first two weeks of the season on Baltimore's practice squad. In 36 college game, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Louisiana native had 16 pass breakups and two interceptions.

Isaiah Crowell said he talked to coach Hue Jackson about getting him more carries.

Crowell has opened the season against a pair of tough run defenses in the Steelers and Ravens and has managed just 70 rushing yards on 27 carries (2.59 YPC) along with 33 yards on two catches. Jackson wants to get him the ball more, but we've heard him say this before. The good news is the schedule softens a bit with the Colts, Bengals, and Jets on deck for the Browns, even though the Colts are second in the league in run defense after two weeks.

There has been some holes the Crow has missed . his vision needs to improve . I just hope he doesn't turn into another Trent Richardson .:wall:

And here I thought for all these years, that a QB's progressions were based on which WR was more likely to be open. Now I find out they're based on draft pedegree.

Makes me wonder what logic Tom Brady uses.

There was at least three plays in the opener against Pittsburgh, where Isaiah missed wide open running lanes...Maybe he was just a little too amped up, but he's gotta do a better job. Nothing could help our young QB more than a solid running game.

Lym, every play drawn up is done so for a certain player. That player will be in the hot read. I am saying they more than likely had Coleman in the hot read the majority of the time. Which makes sense, doesn't it? A player you had input in drafting, vs. a 4 year veteran who took until his 4th year to break 1,000 yards receiving...Who would you draft a play to go to? Now, the plays are already drawn up, Higgins is stepping into Coleman's role. They aren't re-writing the play book since Coleman's injury.

Do you ever wonder why certain players on the Patriots receive more yards than others?

Sorry, Irish . . . But if that were the case, they would be totally ignoring who the receivers are going against. In my world, the hot read would be whoever is going against the opponent's worst defender. And that matchup can change from play to play.

That's true off the read of the defense, but not on the draw of the play. There are definitely signals at the line which change the complexion of the play, but I don't think it is necessarily targeting a certain "worst" defender as much as the alignment.

Believe it or not, the Colts currently have the second best run defense in the league. They led last Sunday for the majority of the game. This might be the soft part of the schedule, but the Browns certainly can't have that mindset. One game at a time. If we are going to find an identity, it should happen over the next six weeks. A lot of talk about an improved Cleveland Browns. It ALL falls on deaf ears if we come out flat this week or next. Cleveland wants to show the world that these are NOT the same 'ol Browns. Only way to do that is to win. Plain and simple. Doesn't matter if it's ugly. Just find a way to win. It's the Colts, Bengals and then Jets. All very winnable games.

Indy is first. I believe our defense can get some penetration this week, and disrupt whomever is taking snaps for the Colts. No crazy predictions this week, but I'm extremely confident that we can come away with our first W, as long as we don't give it away..

Cleveland COULD be 3-2 over the next few weeks. This week should be that first step. Also, this week is the toughest of the next 3 opponents, and I can't decide who's worse between NYJ and Cincy. C'mon Cleveland... help make Baltimore #3!

Myles Garrett is out of his boot, I hope he returns against the Bengals!!

I don't expect to see him this week, but coach wouldn't rule him out...

BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns practice week started without one of their premier defensive players.

Jamie Collins was not on the field during the portion of practice open to the media after suffering a concussion in last Sunday's loss to the Ravens.

On Sunday, the Browns confirmed that he was in the NFL's concussion protocol and will not be able to practice until cleared.

Collins has 11 tackles and a forced fumble through two games.

If Collins is unable to play on Sunday, first year linebacker James Burgess will likely take his place. Through two games, Burgess has two tackles, including a sack and a pass broken up.

  19. Agreed, especially in the case of the Patriots and Brady, and Rogers and the Packers. No other QBs in the league run through their progressions better and faster than those two, and they pick out the one receiver with the best matchup more times than not.

OK, wouldn't we all still agree that's Coleman?
