Shy of disaster striking on one of the first two offensive plays for the Browns, Joe Thomas will hit the 10,000 consecutive snaps played today. He has NEVER missed a single snap in his proffesional career! IMHO, that feat ranks right up there with Cal Ripken's MLB consecutive game record. It will be interesting to see if the Ravens stop play to recognize Joe's accomplishment. (I'll insert this now for Stopper: "If the Browns had just one playoff game, he would have hit that milestone last week")
So here's the problem: "Starting the QB who gives us the best chance to win." And... "Starting DeShone Kizer." ... are mutually exclusive.
I agree w that Lym...lol...btw he will probably grade out great but when actually watching the game he gives up sacks and pressures..not sure who does the grading
Note to Hue Jackson: Stop listening to diva wide receivers and keep the challenge flag in your pocket. Better yet . . . Leave it in the glove compartment of your car!
that was well FUGLY . When did Kizer get migraines ? did he have them at ND or is just something that happened today ? hell his shitty play gave me a headache .
Let's take this with a grain of salt. Hue Jackson is the only one calling it a migraine...Kizer just said he got a headache. When Jackson saw that, he put him in concussion protocol. That is what happened yesterday. Kizer didn't pull himself because of a migraine and he didn't use it as an excuse for looking like a rookie against a playoff caliber team. Because of the current protocol, when a headache is in play and a coach or medical personnel put that player into concussion protocol, they must go through the entire protocol before re-entering the game. This is being blown out of proportion. It happens more than you think, it just doesn't happen to QBs as much. Depends on the symptoms how soon they can return. But one thing is clear, Kizer never used the word migraine...Hue is the ONLY one that used that word. I have a feeling it was just a headache based on the fact they were able to get it to subside in less than an hour. A migraine usually takes longer than that. And no bluez, in the last two years, I never say or even heard of Kizer getting a headache in a ND game. Let's not be chicken little here and think the sky is falling....
BALTIMORE -- Browns receiver Corey Coleman will visit a hand specialist to determine the extent of his injury, but the Browns still fear he broke it again, a league source told cleveland.com. X-rays taken on the right hand after the game revealed that Coleman may have fractured a bone in the same hand that he broke last season. The original injury didn't require surgery, and Coleman was back on the field after a six-week absence. It's not yet known if it's the same bone, but if Coleman needs surgery, he could be out even longer than last season. Coleman left Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Ravens with 13:15 left after a collision with cornerback Marlon Humphrey. Both players went up for the ball and collided, and Coleman came down on the hand. He stood doubled over on the field for a few moments clutching the hand and held his hand close to body as he walked off the field in obvious pain. After the game, he went to the X-ray room, and then he sat looking dejected at his locker. Last year's No. 15 overall pick, Coleman didn't want to talk after the game. "He's hurt,'' explained said one of his teammates. Coleman suffered the first broken hand in practice last season after the second game and missed the rest of the first half of the season. When he returned, he was never really able to catch up, finishing the year with only 33 catches for 413 yards and three TDs. During Sunday's loss to the Ravens, he caught only one of his seven targets for 9 yards. It was part of the reason the Browns offense -- which turned the ball over five times -- struggled. The poor outing came on the heels of a promising game last week against the Steelers, in which he caught five passes for 53 yards. If Coleman misses a significant amount of time, the Browns have receivers such as Kasen Williams and Reggie Davis who will have to fill in.
I stand corrected...I watched the entire post game interview and the last thing he said was, my migraines are hereditary. But he also said earlier in the interview that he hadn't had one since high school...so, I really am not too worried about it.
Which is understandable, that's about how often I get them...although my wife gets them way more often, or so she says...
I haven't experienced true migraines that frequently. In my life, I'd say maybe half a dozen would qualify as a full blown migraine. All I know is it's absolute hell on earth and the idea of playing football with one seems far fetched to me. I know Terrelle Davis used to get them, but somehow Denver always concocted some formula that they gave him to make it bearable for him to re-enter the game. And he played a much more physically demanding role. Of course, that was 20 years ago, so maybe they do have stuff that somehow makes it go away on demand... Never had the privilege. All I know is they are real, and folks that act like that's not a real reason to miss time on a football field are sorely misguided...
It looks like Jordan Leslie is on his way back to Cleveland. He has no practice squad eligibility so it would be interesting to see how the team handles this. Is there anyone on IR designated for return??
