Summer is almost over and sports wise, its a GREAT thing. My only summer regrets are working too much and not drinking more tequila.

I've always considered Fort Myers to be a large, municipal-ish, retirement community, but the median age is actually 39.8 yrs, the US average is 37 and change. The interesting thing is there are 2.58 people per household there. I was wondering about the 0.58 part of a person. Do they give that to you top to bottom, bottom to top or can you just get mostly the good parts, like at KFC?

 

i was in Ft. Myers for Spring Break in 1995. The locals hated Spring Break bc it's a mess of kids down there. The rest of the year or other 11 months it's very nice. They were showing pictures of it this weekend and it was a swamp! Not good. A co-worker's sister was below Ft. Myers, didn't evacuate and was ok. House is fine too. Very lucky.

Speaking of drinking - 16 months sober yesterday and I was asked to be a guest speaker tonight at a speaker meeting, so the show is all mine. Never told my whole story before. I am ready! Many people start out well and then fizzles out. I am going to blow them away!

 

They were showing Daytona Beach this morning, wasn't in such bad shape, I drove there five years ago, looked very familiar.

 

my older brother went to college on the beaches of DB in the early 80's bf the Spring Break craze hit. it was big with bikers. i can't imagine going to school on a beach like that.

16th anniversay of 9/11, time flies.

 

Yeah. My current job is being a patina artist for the 9/11 Memorial. They shut the plaza down at night and we go in and resurface the panels of the victims' names. This is my last month doing it, since I'm going back to the fine arts services field. We had a BIG push the last few days to get the panels looking nice for today's event.

 

gave a speech last night about my story of my drinking life and what led me to quit. it ran a little longer than i thought and i was told to wrap it up at 8:45, but it was a huge success. many people liked it a lot and praised me for it. i guess im good at talking about it.
