He did the same thing too me. I followed him back for a while and he un-followed me, so I un-followed him. After some time, like a few months, he followed me back... I ignored him, lol.

The Sabres can breathe a sigh of relief before the start of the hockey season as they welcomed Kyle Okposo back to the ice Tuesday.

The forward skated with the team in Buffalo for the first time in months after he sustained frightening concussion-like symptoms in March.

"It was obviously a tough situation, a tough road," Okposo said, via The Associated Press. "I'm just happy to be back and happy to be able to play again, and play at a high level."

The 29-year-old said he started losing weight and couldn't sleep after a "routine hit" during a March practice. He was hospitalized in April in Buffalo General Hospital's Neuro Surgical ICU as his condition worsened.

According to Okposo, he didn't start feeling better until May.

"It was definitely a scary thing," Okposo said. "Your mind starts to question a lot of things."

Okposo signed a seven-year, $42 million contract with the Sabres last offseason. In his first year in Buffalo, he recorded 19 goals and 26 assists for 45 points in 65 games.

NEW YORK -- Erik Karlsson was in the Big Apple Wednesday, taking part in the NHL's preseason Media Tour, and told The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun that he has not skated since undergoing surgery on his left foot in June and is unsure if he will be ready to play by Opening Night.

Karlsson originally suffered two hairline fractures in his foot during the Senators' first-round playoff series against the Bruins. In fact, Karlsson surprised many by not only playing through the pain, but speaking publicly about the injury.

    Funny story today:
My gf started a new job today and she left her wallet (travel card/bank cards etc.) in her desk drawer at work. So she calls me from the station and asks what to do. I said, "Go to the turnstile near a service booth and try it 3 times. Turn around and tell the agent in the booth that your card didn't work and you have to travel all the way to Far Rockaway and you have no way of getting home otherwise and they'll pass you through." Just got a text from saying, "It worked."

Report: George Parros will be new head of NHL’s Department of Player Safety

Former NHL tough guy George Parros will reportedly become the key decision maker of the NHL’s Department of Player Safety, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Stephane Quintal, who had been serving as the senior vice-president, has been the lead voice when it comes to suspensions over the last three years.

Although Parros will now be in charge of handing out discipline, Friedman reports that Quintal will be staying in the department to help with Parros’ transition. Also, according to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, Quintal will see his role expand within the league office.

Parros officially joined the Department of Player Safety on this date one year ago. At the time, he was named the director, player safety.

“It’s an interesting opportunity to not only watch a lot of hockey and remain in the sport, but kind of affect what’s going on in the sport in a way that things move forward,” Parros said last year, per NHL.com. “You’re trying educate the players, and the thing that best suits me for the job is that I’ve played the game for a long time and played as physical as anybody else, perhaps more so, and never once got fined or suspended.”

Prior to turning pro in 2002-03, he spent four years playing college hockey at Princeton University.

In his story, Friedman also mentioned that there could be more changes coming to the department, as Chris Pronger’s spot still hasn’t been filled by anyone. There are rumblings that recently retired forward Shane Doan could be in line to fill that role.

As a direct responsibility of Mr. Parros in his new position, he will demonstrate how to deliver and receive numerous punches to the head. Amazing... George Parros teh "Decider". Shit man, L00ch just might have a job waiting for him when he retires.

I have heard Parros speak on numerous occasions and I was always astounded with his eloquent delivery and insight. His voice I approve of.

The intriguing thing too me is the fact that Parros was never fined or suspended... that's a magical thing right there.
