It is being reported that Hicks is being signed to a 4 year $48 mill extension with $30 mill guaranteed.
Thats a pretty high guaranteed number.... but i still like this extension. At some point you have to stop the talent walking out the door, which in Hicks case was a very real possibility a year from now. We've kinda seen the other side of this coin in Pace's disastrous handling of the WR position. And if your gonna spray around short term prove it deals then you have to accept you'll be paying out when one of them does actually "prove it". The Bears can afford this comfortably. Hopefully they were smart enough to structure it so that a lot of the guaranteed $ comes out this year.
