This may be an unpopular opinion but I think Bortles, despite his INT and accuracy issues played better than Henne tonight.
I had a look at Henne's snaps again. My issues with Henne is the plays he didn't try to make that he should have. Henne tries to play it very safe and misses obvious things. Bortles gets stupid with some throws and still has an accuracy problem but not too much anymore. Henne had a couple great deep passes and a great scramble. However I felt that the little intangibles and decisions I saw from Bortles were better overall. But he played a worse defense. If the team wanted to wake up Bortles they did and he should get the nod. If they really wanted to go Henne and want to play uber safe and scared they go Henne. If I were the Jags I would start Blake week 4 and if he does well name him starter. Otherwise go Henne.
Will's Projected 2017 Standings... AFC West: Raiders, Chiefs, Broncos, Chargers NFC West: Cardinals, Seahawks, Rams, 49ers AFC South: Titans, Texans, Jaguars, Colts NFC South: Falcons, Buccaneers, Saints, Panthers AFC North: Steelers, Bengals, Ravens, Browns NFC North: Packers, Vikings, Lions, Bears AFC East: Patriots, Dolphins, Bills, Jets NFC East: Cowboys, Red Skins, Giants, Eagles
NOT BOLD PREDICTION I predict a team will do better than everyone thought they would and I also predict one team everyone liked will suck. Thank you you may pay me your money now for my not bold prediction.
my prediction being a homer - The Eagles take the NFC East Crown ! And Carson Wentz has a big year with his new WRs.
Homer opinion, the Ravens have the #3 scoring defense and the #1 total defense Not so bold opinion, 3 of the four teams from last year's championship weekend will not be there again this season, and the one that will won't advance past it.
If Alex Smith goes down, Patrick Mahomes will light up the NFL and make KC very dangerous. What a rocket that guy has.
So, are the Chiefs that good or is the Patriots team coming back down to Earth? I think a bit of both.
Patriots will still win 12+ games but the loss of Edelman is a big deal. That guy is probably the toughest wide receiver in the league and they don't have another one that can play in the middle of the field like him and stay healthy. Gronk looked like he was lumbering too. They'll make adjustments and will still be very good on offense. Not sure about the defense. They really need Hightower to be okay.
Bit of both. Both teams are likely a little worse today than yesterday, especially the Chiefs losing Berry. Never heard an update on Peters, was his injury just cramping like Hill's?
I just looked around the web and found nothing on Peters but the Anthem stuff... he's likely not seriously injured if at all.
Thought Gronk might have gotten a bit dinged on that dropped TD pass. Edelman or no, Brady was awful last night. Honestly can't recall him ever making so many off-target throws.
I noticed that too but that's the one thing I thought was probably an anomaly. He's too good for that to continue.
Maybe Calvin Pryor to be the Chiefs? Definitely not as good as Berry, but might be the best on the market right now.
With the way the Patriots defense played and the Saints defensive issues... the Saints and Pats might surpass 80 points put up in that one in Week 2.
